Some do. But an NTSC DVD will be lower resolution than a PAL DVD.

It's too bad. They are really good, especially It's A Sin.

Wouldn't it be great if this Discovery release was finally accompanied by Chris Heath's book of the tour, which Neil and Chris blocked due to content?
Never heard about this before. Was the block to preserve the privacy of a third party?

Thought these were by Derek Jarman, not [Eric?] Watson?

Repeating an erroneous claim doesn't make it any more true. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
Well, so far you have failed to make it clear why DVD would not be able to carry SD in not worse quality than Bluray can. You gave 5 reasons none of which hold water, and simply keep standing by your claim citing merely your personal impression playing some SD content.

IIRC they were horrified by their own behavior. I don't believe there's ever been an indication of what that was, or whether they've mellowed with age, or whether they'd allow an edited version. I'd love to read it - the other two are essential.

The fact that you say this demonstrates yet again that you simply don't know what you're talking about.

I beg pardon everyone, just doing some testing here of what seems to be stuck in a loop :D

Yay! System seems to be not broken at the very basic level

Now, step by step. The maximum SD resolution is 720×576.

Now, that's some useful info. I have never heard anything on DVD codec (MPEG-2) being inherently flawed as to not being able to perfectly convey the picture at proper/sufficient settings/bitrates. Is it a well-known fact with prooflinks?
