Why Don't We Live Together? (New York 12'' Dance Mix #2)

#1 Post by astrocordoba »

After the nice version of "Comes as a Surprise", now Pacalo posted an amazing version in his youtube channel: Why Don't We Live Together? (New York 12'' Dance Mix #2)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W62TjOF5Fsg

Again, is this underground, never released original stuff or a fan-made mix using the multi-tracks?

Cheers

Very heavy on the claps...perhaps a weeeee bit too much. No clue if it's legit or fan made.

Sounds fan made to my ears... and someone loves their handclaps just a bit too much.

It has original vocals!!! No way it's not legitimate.
Near the end Neil sings "We'll make it last, make it last forever" "the time is right, it's now or never". Also has "ooo"s which sound unique.

It amazes me how many PSB obscurities there are, it truly is endless.

It sounds legit given the structure of the song. Very good find.

Excellent, always wondered why it wasn't a single, always been one of my favorite songs from Please. And those extra vocal lines at the end haven't been on anything else before have they? So, either a long lost mix, or someone created it from stolen or found multis (doubtful).

I had a variation of this on cassette years ago. It was just studio out takes. Sounds like this was made from that.

I had WDWLT? on a Sarm West demo cassette years ago. It had about 20 different excerpts, stems and variants on it. Slightly different dubs and mix. Its probably originated from that. It certainly sounds "legit" though

A Fan Mix of the leaked session of the song. The whole outtake is about 30min long. But a good one, anyway.

Oh, I always loved it!!
And when the Further listening series finally released the "Original New York Mix" with credits, I finally confirmed what I thought for years: the Latin Rascals were behind the "edits" on that dub mix! What I didn´t knew was that the remix work was also on the hands of Ron Dean Miller...what means the same team who mixed the "Version Latina" of Opportunities. So there's a hint about that maybe this mixes (The New York Mix, the Dub, and the rest of the outtakes on the leaked tapes mentioned here) were produced-mixed by them around the same time as the original Opportunities mixes. Time before "Please" came out...and it was maybe a contender for a single release, later discarded in favour of West End girls, Love comes quickly and Suburbia...
