A terrible list altogether though. Too much Bob Dylan and Neil Young and there's probably too much Nirvana in it too. [edit] yup, too much Nirvana.

They cite four songs and misinterpret three of them! Stunning lack of critical analysis there.

And with a punctuation typo as well. Idiots.

They choose American artist because the critics are from USA. They think Bob Dylan is amazing and celebrate Nevermind from Nirvana all time. At least, they include new albums and they have remembered PSB, it didn't happen on previous Rolling Stone's best 500 albums of all time lists.

Dodgy journalism or not, its recognition well deserved and for a market that's swamped with everything the Boys have railed against. Good on 'em!

Bob Dylan is the most incredibly over-rated 'artist' ever.

And I love how that page complains about having an ad or script blocker.

“West End Girls,” their ode to queer cruising
Urm. Don't think so. Bit broader than that.

They also refer to the Boys in Taylor Swift's 1989 at number 393: "Swift set out to make “blatant pop music” on 1989 and came up with a love letter to the Pet Shop Boys and Eurythmics, all glossy synths, icy snares, and the manic rush of “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood"

Someone evidently loves our Boys in that magazine :)

I just scanned the list and found it quite enjoyable. It seems very ecclectic; it is also very predictable and also very unpredictable because nearly half of the albums (and bands) remain unknown to me. and perhaps there were too many Led Zeppelins? Also, maybe I overlooked but I do not recall seeing any Queen album, which is sort of peculiar, isn't it? Anyway, a nice catalogue for reference to hear some new music.

My only gripe is if you listed Immaculate Collection (and some other greatest hits albums) you should have definitely added Discography, which is far superior to Immaculate Collection.

And no Erasure lol :P
