Re: Did the PSB website change?
So...the obvious question is are they now with Warner suddenly?
Re: Did the PSB website change?
Most likely not, they are probably just hiring them for different things.

Re: Did the PSB website change?
My guess is this is actually quite big—maybe they sold their music catalogue to Warner’s. Former PSB manager Merck Mercuriadis has a company that buys up catalogues and recently acquired Blondie’s, https://variety.com/2020/music/news/blo ... 234725924/ . Several long-established acts seem to be selling theirs as a kind of retirement package. (Not meaning they’ll stop making music, but getting a big cash inflow while they still have time to enjoy it.) I do t know that Merck’s project has anything to do with Warner’s, but maybe the latter is getting in on the act, too.
In any case, a company like Warner’s slapping a copyright notice on an act’s website is about something more than just contracting out some services, it’s a statement of ownership—or so I imagine.

Perhaps X2 has gone the way of Spaghetti Records and Olde English.
Re: Did the PSB website change?
They would have announced it.
Re: Did the PSB website change?
They use Warner’s services sending out newsletters, when new stuff is being released.
Re: Did the PSB website change?
I get all my emails from Warner to advise of new Pet shop boys products, releases etc. plus their Xmas card.

I think when Hotspot was due out the Pet Shop Boys store (I am sure it was this) went a bit funny one night and what you ordered was from actually now from Warner. The postage was from abroad and expensive and the next day it had gone.

Re: Did the PSB website change?
I thought their Parlophone catalogue had been sold to Warner ages ago. I thought we all knew about this? Weren’t all their recent Further Listening albums released through Warner? I don’t think this is new.
Its taken me all of my life to find you

Re: Did the PSB website change?
Very interesting. Well...for them to replace "© 2020 Pet Shop Boys Partnership" with "© 2020 WARNER MUSIC UK LIMITED"...that is a huge statement.
Re: Did the PSB website change?
The thought occurs that their entire catalogue might now be under one banner and that x2 is now part of it.
Re: Did the PSB website change?
If they did that they most likely got a good deal. Time will tell.
