The deep cut - Fugitive. It's a pulsating track written from the perspective of suicide bombers. You don't get that from Coldplay.

The surprise track - We Came From Outer Space. Decide is the most recent example of this type of track and I suppose Relentless its epitome.

The cringe factor - Winner. Just for being so shameless in its attempt to exploit the Olympics, including the cringe-tastic sight of them performing it with the GB squad.

Deep Cut - Fugitive
Surprise - Will O The Wisp
Cringe - In Denial (keep it on the Cast Soundtrack, just not as a PSB song on Nightlife)

Hi all

A few friends and I have a little song swap thing going on where we listen to the recommended songs and discuss after. I need to recommend 3 PSB songs that fit the following categories:

1. The deep cut - recommend a track that is very much a fan base special that is absolutely top draw - be that an album track or a b side or one off that was never released to the masses

2. The surprise track - something that will make us go “oh I didn’t know this was <insert band name here>!”

3. The cringe factor - the one you’d like to expunge from the bands catalogue and never hear again.

I've got too many to choose from for the deep cut and a couple for the cringe track (WKMA or TSOTAS) ... but the surprise factor has me stumped. :wall:

What are your thoughts - would be good to see your list of three.
1. Positive Role Model or For your Own Good
2. I Get Along or Being Boring
3. Happiness is an Option
I was born in a hospital room with green walls, the doctor who delivered me wore a green overall, so did the nurses hovering around. So much greenery around, its no wonder that it is my favourite colour !

Fantastic response - thanks for all the suggestions

I'm now looking at:

Deep Cut: End of the World (not sure anyone mentioned it but it's such an achingly beautiful song and that lush production is divine) ... or It always comes as a surprise (one of their absolute best tracks ever - no debate!)

Surprise: Decide, This used to be the Future ro Hallo Spaceboy (cheating a bit as last two have additional vocalists ... Neil's vocal makes every track a PSB song!)

Cringe: Metamorphosis or the In Denial (cast version as suggested by Retro)
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional
