Most of their singles were released commercially in the US right up through New York city boy, I would guess that problems finding them were down to poor distribution. The US never really got into cd singles so outside of major cities, cd single selections could be very hit and miss. I can't remember specific titles but there were numerous times I'd be browsing a cd store in NYC or Boston and find a US single release of something that I had never seen in any stores at home.

Regarding the books I still find it amusing that it never crossed my mind that either of them might be gay at the time I first read them. No talk of girlfriends or wives, no meeting women at clubs or parties, Chris brings a 'friend' along for the tour and they hang out together all the time...
