Cohesiveness

#1 Post by Tentenlad » Mon 18 May 2020, 3:35 pm

Main album tracks only -
how many songs per album do you think spoil its ‘cohesiveness’ (or maybe you just dislike?) and would opt to remove, thus ‘improving’ the overall album?

Please (0)
Actually (0)
Introspective (0)
Behaviour (0)
Very (0)
Bilingual (1) ‘Electricity’
Nightlife (2) ‘Boy strange’/‘Footsteps’
Release (2) ‘Love is a catastrophe’/ ‘The night I fell in love’
Fundamental (0)
Yes (1) ‘Legacy’
Elysium (3) ‘Winner’/‘Ego music’/‘Hold on’
Electricity (0)
Super (2) ‘Happiness’/‘Pazzo’
‘Hotspot’ (2) ‘Monkey business’(should have been on Super)/‘Burning the heather’

Simile alert!
Removing Love is a catastrophe from Release would be like removing a beating heart from a body.

Removing wedding in berlin from hotspot is rejuvination itself!
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning. :|
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

I have to say I agree about Burning the Heather. I find it's out of place. Maybe it should be earlier in the album or before Only the dark at the very least. I feel Hotspot takes a bit of a nosedive at the end.

Love is a catastrophe is one of the better tracks on Release so why would you remove it over utter shit like The night I shagged Eminem and Here ?

If anything, The dictator decides is out of place on Super, not that I care about that album.
And I think In denial, being a character-driven musical-song, is very much out of place on Nightlife, as is Boy strange, for sonical reasons.
