"Now the issue that you’ll have with the fanbase as big as theirs is that the older fans probably are not quite as locked in to club culture as some of the younger fans."

Fantastic! This quote is even better.
Whenever a new single comes out, I keep an eye on the socials and you’ll often get someone say, “Why can’t we have a Trouser Enthusiast remix like we had in 95?” And the answer to that is because it’s not 1995.
Can be applied to so, so many posts in here too.

Really interesting, thanks. Interesting to read that the Hotspot era may not quite be over.

Love the article.
Great and very insightful.

I disagree about the quality of the remixes,
they've gotten much worse since the 90's.

They just don't have the creativity and longevity that the earlier ones have.
Most of which are classics nowadays.

Too much repetition, and relying on gimmicky trends in styles to make them
sound current.

Sure, they're great to collect, but most of the mixes don't get played very often.

Really insightful interview - surprised we've not had that commentary about remixers before.

I don't think the remixes have got worse, I think the context, club sound and structure of tracks has changed a lot since the 90s.
I'm very impressed that David Jackson got to remix I don't wanna at 17 yrs of age.
