That's honestly devastating. They should be ashamed!
I am really frustrated with the postal services as things I order online often gets damaged during shipment. I have started to pay premium prices to get tracked and fast delivery when I order something online to limit the time the parcels are handled by various postal services. I paid £15.32 to get this shipped to Denmark which was the most expensive option offered by Rough Trade. It wasn't even fast delivered. You are right, they really should be ashamed.

Wow, what happened there?
Not sure what happened but the substance on the books smelled and felt like some kind of bathing oil or soap. I opened the package with the delivery woman present. I followed her advised to refuse delivery which would make it possible for them to compensate Rough Trade for the destroyed books. It was somewhat devastating to let go of the beautiful autographs inside the books though.

Opened my package today and both books in fine shape with nice autographs in each. Maybe a very slight bit of wear on the cover of one due to the book rubbing against the cardboard. These should have been shrinkwrapped after the signing. At first I was mad that RT made me order each separately, however, I think this actually may have protected these a bit better.
Thanks to the original poster who alerted us to Rough Trade listing these early.

Hurray!! Received the signed books from Rough Trade today.
So, sorry to have seen the state of your books. I really hope they send something decent back to you soon.
Thank you. I contacted Rough Trade right away. It has been a week now and I haven't heard back from them if they will be able to send replacements or give me a refund. Considering the things going on in the world right now my problem with these signed books seems somewhat irrelevant.

They finally arrived in England Tuesday this week, both a bit bashed (Chris a bit more than Neil). I really don't understand why companies can't use bubble-wrap for things like this to prevent damage and protect the items.
Keep emailing Rough Trade & maybe try phoning them Mads or try for a refund via your credit card company perhaps?

Has anybody had a dispatch email yet from the official store for the slipcase veraion. Would have expected that by now and maybe even delivery.
These aren’t shipping until mid-April now. Had an email a couple of weeks ago.
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

Anyone else in England also still not received their signed books yet? (from Rough Trade)
Mine arrived on Monday, just under 2 weeks delivery. It could be your local post office just being really busy. Did you use the trackable option for dispatch? If so, keep checking Royal Mail it’ll say they don’t have any details until your local office receives the package, then it’ll say “We haven’t attempted delivery yet” (or words to that effect) - that means they have it and it’ll be in the queue for delivery.
I thought the tweet about shipping on 1st april was for the slipcase edition as well. They also did take the credit card payment which is why i thought it may have been shipped or shipping in the last few days. Oh well....
