The truth is that Pitchfork is crazy about being politically correct and there is a lot of promotion of particular values. They combine it with their music agenda very easily. However, bands like PSB are perceived as too anachronistic and too romantic form of gayness. As you have noticed in the review, music is just a suplement to ideological message. This is a trend present not only on that site. All in all, now they're promoting some urban black rap and that shitty deconstructed music often written by artists with depression problems or some transsexual issues. Now this is a theme. You cannot change this narrative with good music.
I've been around the world for a number of reasons. I've seen it all the change of seasons, and I, my lord, may I say nothing?

Neil Tennant (who's openly gay)"... Ugh, such a retrograde way of writing. Not Neil Tennant the musician, Neil Tennant the author...

Ecstatic review in Danish music monthly Gaffa - 5 out of 6 stars, and a headline that says it all: Spot on, boys!
