Hotspot reviews

#1 Post by Dog » Fri 03 Jan 2020, 6:26 pm

Thought this might be worth a topic of its own so we have a place to put them as they come in.

Translations appreciated!

It's too blurry for google translate, so please provide a better picture.
I've been around the world for a number of reasons. I've seen it all the change of seasons, and I, my lord, may I say nothing?

Not in the least. The singles have been such a mixed bag it didn't look encouraging (well to me anyway). Would love to know what the German reviewer made of Monkey Business.

Is it just me, but it's like Monkey Business sounds just 'better' here. Or is it a real 'grower' and do I become familiar with the song? ;-)

Wrong thread, obviously. But at least it's not a new one, eh.

You are not mistaken, Neil Tennant in the comparably gaudy, alarmist attacking song Willo-the-Wisp: the Pet Shop Boys are much more a lighthouse, a star in the dark, a fixed castle. :eh:

It's apparently still a piece on the agenda in 1988, funnier though it is to sing today. After everything.

Nice read. It's basically stating that it includes stompers followed by ballads, harking back to the sound of their empirial phase hits. And that labeling it the last album in a trilogy seems a bit arbritary. It's written in a positive tone though.

Being German, I can tell that you've summed up the piece very well. Indeed, there's nothing more said about the album and nothing interesting whatsoever. No surprise to me though as the writing comes from the Rolling Stone...
