Beautiful piano!
I hope the new owner takes very good care of this great piece of music history.

I would think they would to be honest as it was a lot of money. I wonder if a fan bought it? It is a shame Neil has sold it. "Neil on the Joanna" has a certain ring to it so to speak.

I'm assuming the piano version of London was created on it
Live synth pop tracks you might have forgotten about.

From Literally:

London (Genuine piano mix)

Neil: This was totally done by Chris Zippel.
Chris: And his pianist.

Neil: When Chris Zippel has got your stuff over there on his computer he endlessly works on it and keeps sending endless things over, which is actually quite nice.

Chris: It's always work in progress.
Neil: Until you say "stop it!". Even then he carries on. He remixed "Positive role model" for this album. For this, he got a pianist friend in and he re-harmonised the whole song. It reminds me a bit of Ryuichi Sakamoto: "Forbidden Colours". He did it with the original vocal and you could hear the microphone stuff on it and also there was one note I just thought sounded weird against the new chords he put in, so I sang it again. We considered making this the version on Release; on this album it sort of functions as a chill-out track.
Woof.

I thought £1500 wasn’t a lot of money for a decent piano owned by Neil Tennant. It’s about the same price as a reasonable synthesiser.

Yeah I have to say if I had a house big enough I would have been sorely tempted to bid a couple of K on this which would have won it. Much more impressive than a clear Introspective!

Agreed. Possibly transport/collection would put a lot of people off bidding for it. The limited edition Yes boxset is being flogged on Discogs for £3.5k....! 2k more than a grand piano owned by Neil!

Oh yes, transport definitly was a reason, especially for international bidders. And for me of course the limited space in my quite modest living room. :(
This piano deserves some great surroundings and someone who can play it well.

I just hope it went to a fan - and lots of PSB-songs will be played on it. :)

Auction ended one month ago now, but unfortunately no further posts or news here. :(
I'm still wondering what happened to it and who is playing it now.

Does anybody know?

Presumably a fan on here hasn't bought it, otherwise we'd have seen mention. It's likely gone to the home of a music/piano/antiques aficionado. The piano did have a significant value on its own accord- away from the PSB connection.
