Twenty-something and a poem

Loving the read of One Hundred lyrics and a poem by Mr Tennant. Good selection of lyrics & even though a lot of them are self explanatory it's nice to finally have an in depth view from the master himself. My best lyric and this is probably because it was not included in the final cut of the song is verse three of Twenty-something;

Twenty-something
meet and greet
Avoiding that
bubonic creep
A vampire who
seemed so friendly
stole your ideas
still feels envy
Oh, Twenty-something
in too deep

....Sublime. Apparently this verse was omitted from the original song because they felt it made it too long....would have been fine for the album version. Let's just hope there is a demo of it hanging around. Talking of Twenty-something....Twenty five words in the Poem. Lovely & meaningful poem but be honest who thought it would be longer?
Never the less a perfect companion to a host of beautiful songs from Tennant & Lowe.

Ooooh sounded like Twenty-something would have went darker still.

"Bubonic creep" sounds kinda rapey. (I had to google "bubonic" in other contexts)

Was gonna say ... don't like the word 'bubonic'

... definitely the right call to have dropped this verse in my opinion.

There should have been an extended mix with that verse, much like The Pop Kids had. Hearing it now it's one of the best tracks from Super.

Neil quoted these lyrics in Literally 42, page 17. He also mentions 1 or 2 other verses were scrapped but these were not printed

Hello...

+1+1+1+1
How many songs have the word bubonic in the lyrics?
Way to go, Neil!

Wasn't there one on the album before called "Love is a Bubonic Concept"?
