‘It was the end of glam rock; everyone was moving on’: the co-founder of the Pet Shop Boys reflects on a Bryan Ferry poster he saw in 1974

Thanks for posting. Some previously undeclared Elysium influences, maybe?

Neil's been pretty "sophis" and deep lately. I like it and I hope it will translate in his new lyrics. Hopefully there's room for something more substantial than "Groovy" or "Say it to me".
"It was a dark and stormy night."
"You know what's wrong with your stories? They lack subtlety."
"It was a sort of dark and kind of stormy night."

what a coincidence,I was watching a you tube episode of the true account of an airplane that almost crashed and it said Bryan Ferry was on the plane.

Indeed he was on a plane that nearly crashed. It was hijacked by some clown. There was a picture taken straight after and Mr Ferry was not looking too happy.

BTW the UK joined the EC on 1st January 1973. NOT 1974. More lazy 'journalism'

I just LOVED listening to Neil narrate this. Truth be told, I could here Neil recite the Bible and would be in love. Anyway, it was also written by Neil....he totally should do more writing and narration on other projects like documentaries, films and books.

Got a really bad feeling this next album is going to be doom and Brexit gloom...
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning. :|
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

I'd quite like a dark album … but I'm expecting mostly bright shiny pop for this one.

Anyway, glad the Hockney reference was in there… Elysium sleave always make me think of his work back then... with plenty of thick white emptiness added to make it more Farrow/PSB (and perhaps about loss).
