Wedding in Berlin
First called "Married," the Boys wrote this in Berlin (appropriately enough) in May 2015 as a wedding present for friends of theirs. It was, in fact, played at their wedding reception, serving as the newly married couple's first dance. It reportedly starts with Felix Mendelssohn's famous "Wedding March" from 1842 (often played at the conclusion of wedding services), but quickly deviates from it, becoming "techno-y." They're seriously considering releasing it to the public at some point after revising its lyrics to make it "less specific," such as by deleting or replacing the names of the couple for whom it was written.
It sounds interesting, the "Wedding March" gives to the song a powerful feeling (similar to the intro of Go West) and maybe, it could be one of the high points from the album. I think it is a uptempo song because the previous song is a downtempo song. I don't think they are going to finish the album with two ballads.

We just need a Christening or a Bar Mitzvah. Now there's a trilogy..!

I wish this was the album cover!

By the way, nobody on this forum seems to know that "hotspot" is a wifi term? It's a quite clever "now" title.

There’s nothing wrong with this single. I mean, it’s just not my kind of music. So I’m disappointed for sure. I don’t see (so far) how this is part of a trilogy. If the third in the latest Star Wars trilogy deviated so much from the previous two I would be as equally confused and uninterested.

I definitely don’t see how this is single material, but what do I know.
Is this the only guitar featured song on the album? I was really hoping for the production stylings of Electric and Super just more downtempo. I hope this is still true.

Additionally, other than the first and last track titles the rest sound promising. Curious what the b-sides for Burning the Heather will sounds like.

In my opinion both Dreamland B-sides are far better than the A-side, the same may very well be true for the next single, it's a pretty common thing with PSB.

I'm surprised it is "Hotspot - Pet Shop Boys" and not "Pet Shop Boys - Hotspot".

I don't think that on Neil's mind hotspot is the internet thing.
If we consider his own political ideas, after Agenda, Dreamland, his avversion to Brexit and Trump,
I bet he's referring to the migrants hotspot.
Interesting.

"What are Hotspots?
The ‘Hotspot approach’ involves the establishment of EU-run reception centres in frontline member states like Italy and Greece to identify and fingerprint migrants and refugees.

Help to the member states would be provided by the European Asylum Support Office (EASO), the EU border agency (Frontex), the EU Police Cooperation Agency (Europol) and the EU Judicial Cooperation Agency (Eurojust).

Officially-designated Hotspots would be key to the task of relocating refugees from war zones and to filtering out those people who have crossed the Mediterranean in search of better economic circumstances. The ‘Hotspot approach’ would facilitate the return of ‘irregular migrants’."

Does anyone know what this interior is? Is it the inside of a modern church, perhaps in Berlin?

Hotspot has also a geological meaning:

"volcanic regions thought to be fed by underlying mantle that is anomalously hot compared with the surrounding mantle" (causing volcanoes).
