The Re-issues Chart Watch Thread!

#1 Post by Undertaker » Thu 27 Jul 2017, 9:47 pm

We've not had one of these for a while but could we be looking at the possibility of three Pet Shop Boys albums in the top 40 at the same time? I doubt its happened before. Doubtful it will happen now but you never know.........

Do albums bought from overseas count toward chart placement? For example, I'm in Colorado but if I bought my CDs from amazon.uk, would those sales apply to the UK charts?

I live in 🇪🇸 and I did exactly the same, got them from amazon.co.uk, they were 10 euros cheaper there!

Could chart well on the physical only chart but the original re-issues from 2001 didn't do that well if memory serves me correctly? One or two made it top 100 and the rest didn't? I could look it up but can't be bothered!
I doubt very much these will make top 40 though but will see well enough for PSB to make a quid or two!

Yeah they charted pretty low and they were the best albums :eh:

If the albums are bought from England, thy must be shipped to an English address to count.

I wonder which album will come out on top? Fundamental sold pretty much twice the number in the first week compared to both Nightlife and Release, i believe. So will that hinder Fundamental because more people have it? Will the casual buyer be buying because of the bonus cd's or because they dont have the original album? Or will Fundamental be the winner because its the probably best album?

Sweden and Denmark for the win! Glad I'm moving there.
Quite a poor showing in the UK, though :(

Midweeks ;-

10. Nightlife
11. Release
12. Fundamental

Although some data will be missing which is probably why they are so high. Loads better than what was anticipated.

Great spots, considering they're just reissues. Hopefully they stay a trio like this, it's fun to see.
Have a look at my taste in music:

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

We are happy to report that in today's midweek album chart in the UK, the reissues of "Nightlife", "Release" and "Fundamental" are numbers 10, 11 and 12."

I think this shows that sixteen years ago, 8000 copies barely got you a top 100 placing but now in 2017 it gets you top ten. Imagine if they actually bothered to do a record Store signing or pop up shop. We'd have three top five albums on our hands.

Reckon they'll be top 30 by Friday.
is is and isnt isnt
