Fantastic interview !

Thanks for pulling this together Dog.

How about Harold Faltermeyer as your next challenge?

p.s. spinning up Concrete as I write this
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional

I read Trevor as trying to be a little funny here.

Having said that, one must remember the process behind Fundamental. The album was already written and programmed before Trevor joined the project. Most of Chris' actual keyboard input was captured in this process. While Trevor was producing, he re-routed Chris's MIDI data from soft synths to analouge synths. But it was still the original MIDI-data playing (this is easy to hear when listening to the demos and the album side by side).

On Introspective, on the other hand, a lot more of the instrumentation was down to Trevor and his team, obviously because N&C were all over the world flogging Actually at the same time.

I mean, isnt he the least bit curious what they've been up to this band he spend months with on fundamental...not even a listen to the newer stuff? anyways I just found that a bit surprising.
He is honest, and that is a good thing. He doesn't pretend to have followed them closely the last decade

I can actually imagine the last 10 years of his life have been a living hell, with the shooting accident just after Fundamental/Concrete, and Jill Sinclair finally dying from it a couple of years ago. Not the time of one's life to catch up on every artist's hot new releases....

Not to mention kids. They suck up so much of your time.

Funnily enough, my kids called them the Ketchup Boys too.

Thank you Dog, that was marvellous. Pleased he answered my question. I had no idea the "Debussy to a disco beat" line came from Trevor!

What a great interview! Thanks Trevor and Dog. I'm fascinated that Steve Lipson came up with the amazing bass line for Left to my Own Devices and (from memory) he didn't even get a writing credit! I'd love to know what the original version sounded like.

+1 for Harold Faltermeyer next if you can get him!
