Well, I've posted the Rolling Stone (RU) review earlier in this thread...
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."
(Neil Tennant, speaking about "Elysium" on the eve of "Electric" release.)

Update:
Corren: 3/5, http://corren.se/kultur-noje/recensione ... 78424.aspx

Reviews have always been luke warm at best. Even albums like Actually and Behaviour, considered classics today, got bad reviews in Sweden.

Jungle World http://jungle-world.com/artikel/2016/12/53730.html

All reviews between quite good actually and really great!
It's obvious that this time all major media are reporting on it, on the day of release and in a sense of -they're beyond actually rating the music and expecting any kind of dissapointment seems silly-

great review from The Guardian
I was born in a hospital room with green walls, the doctor who delivered me wore a green overall, so did the nurses hovering around. So much greenery around, its no wonder that it is my favourite colour !

"In the North-west it rains and it rains. And yet we managed to produce the industrial revolution, trade union movement, the Communist Manifesto and even the goddam computer. Down south, where the sun never sets, you took all our money and what did you produce? Chas and f**king Dave." TONY WILSON

Many 7/10 and similars and much more 8/10 than 6/10.

So you can say the global rating is 7'5/10. More or less.

You can trace general reception here:

Better than metacritic stats (in a way it uses more sources).

I've been around the world for a number of reasons. I've seen it all the change of seasons, and I, my lord, may I say nothing?

Idolator 4/5 "In these days where “super” pop is a rare commodity, music still needs the Pet Shop Boys. And at least we know we have them for one more album."
