*Spoiler alert*

Remember those days, the early 90s?
We both applied for places at the same university
Ended up in London, where we needed to be
To follow our obsession with the music scene
Wherever we went, whatever we did
We knew the songs

They called us the pop kids
‘Cause we loved the pop hits
And quoted the best bits
So we were the pop kids
I loved you
I loved you
They called us the pop kids

I studied history, while you did biology
To you the human body didn’t hold any mystery
We were young, but imagined we were so sophisticated
Telling everyone we knew that rock was over-rated
We stayed out ‘till late, five nights a week
And felt so chic

They called us the pop kids
‘Cause we loved the pop hits
And quoted the best bits
So we were the pop kids
I loved you
I loved you
They called us the pop kids

The pop kids (vocoder)
Remember those days?

(Spoken)
It was a wet Wednesday night
We were worried that no-one would be going out
How wrong we were
When we turned the corner
There was already a queue stretching down the street
We swept straight in
And you said…

Oh, I like it here
Oh, I love it
Oh, I like it here
Oh, I love it
Oh, I like it here
Oh, I love it
Oh, I like it here
I am never going home
I loved you

They called us the pop kids
‘Cause we loved the pop hits
And quoted the best bits
So we were the pop kids
I loved you
It's not exactly Being boring is it?

I'm loving it! can't compare it much to anything that they've done before, though there's some of the 'heart' vibe in it I'd say. It's a sonng which may get some airplay in France. Hope so!
and still no leaks...

Gesaffelstein is the absolute best new artist I've heard in quite a while. He has excellent style, exquisite sounds and work-of-art videos.

As for The Pop Kids. I give it a 7 out of 10. Not the worst, not the best, somewhere below Love Etc. Only had one listen by now, so that's my absolute first impression. Have to give it more thorough listens to totally decide.

After a couple more listens, 8.5 out of 10. Headphones helped a lot so I hear all the bass, gives a new dimension to the song. The chorus is so simple yet so catchy.
Have a look at my taste in music:

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

It's not great, just ok and given that it's a lead single, that's not really good enough. I'm sure i'll like it a little more in time - the chorus is quite catchy.

Looking at the lyrics it reminds me of a song that could be from Closer to Heaven and evokes that shady night club vibe.

I think the song doesn't have that deep soul as many others do. Maybe it was the boys' plan. I hope the gems are still waiting for us on the album.

I have heard it and it is very catchy. I just wish they still wrote songs like So Hard or Dreaming Of The Queen. The strongest album track in recent years has to be The Way It Used To Be.

There are still 10 tracks on the album that no one has heard! I bet there are a few (amazing) gems in there!! 8)
