Obsessed with anything unreleased?
Obsessed with anything unreleased?
Is there any unreleased work by the Boys that you're obsessed with having them release already?
I'm obsessed with that 1997 Stonewall concert, with the Sound of Music covers + It's Not Unusual. The only versions out there are murky at best, and not sure the technology in 1997 was good enough to capture it in good quality at the soundboard (or if anyone ever cared to make a copy). Hopefully it's on the new remaster project the Boys are working on, but not holding my breath!

Yes I'd quite like to know what those Stonewall Performance cover songs sound like, particularly It's Not Unusual.
Luckily I feel like I can imagine it pretty well.
What I'd love to hear is the demos for Electric, that's something that has been on my mind for a while.
The final album seems to have a lot more of Stuart Price's work on it than the PSB, plus a lot of the demos were created around the Elysium stage, so I imagine they'd sound quite different.
I'd like to hear the songs striped down, like the Indio mix of Fluorescent. I think it would be quite interesting.

The salford concert with Johnny Marr surely HAS to be released. This year would be perfect.
I much prefer these gigs to the overly pre-programmed tours.
Otherwise it would have to be the Hacienda gig and Barfly. They spend a lot of attention on re-rubbing tracks to play live, that it's a shame not to hear them properly
I'd also like audio of the Uni/Release tour from the BBC Radio Theatre in London on 13 February 2002

Just "You've Got To Start Somewhere" and "Only Love". They need releasing.
is is and isnt isnt
Re: Obsessed with anything unreleased?
I concur. I do wonder if Stuart Price may have insisted they go through their unreleased back catalogue to pick up songs. Not that Only Love needs THAT much doing to it.tottenhammattspurs wrote:Just "You've Got To Start Somewhere" and "Only Love". They need releasing.
Mind you, some of these songs may not suit Price's production.

I was at the Hacienda gig and I would love that to be released, just to take me back in time! Other than that I'd like to see the Peel Session finally see a release and their version of Philadelphia.
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

The version of Closer To Heaven that's in the About interview.

Re: Obsessed with anything unreleased?
Im slightly obsessed with hearing the Kevin Sanderson remix of I Want A Dog, not sure why. Probably because it was one of the first PSB things I was aware of being unreleased, thanks to Literally. I'd love to hear the Allez a la ouest ravey Go West remix again. Agree that its a shame the Salford concert has never been officially released.
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

This. Twenty-eight-minute version of a track called "Pet Shop Boys" should be awesome.leesmapman wrote:The 25 minute track they recorded with Bobby O
