Paninaro Ian Levine

#1 Post by grantwww »

I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that Ian Levine's remix of Paninaro has been released on CD.

A new compilation is out next month and it's included on that.

You're right, it has never been released on cd before, even though I hope the boys will include on a
forthcomming singles box set. I have it on the Italian 12" though.

Crosssing fingers and waiting to see if the Paninaro version included is really the Ian Levine remix, and not the usual 12" mislabeled...This kind of mistakes are sooooo common on this days, sadly, that you never know what´s the truth until last minute!
This is not my signature.

Which is a cleaned up needle-drop, with lots of attack transients missing from the primitive de-clicking algorithm used.

I'm not a fan of that version, the edits strip the majesty out of the original, his mix of its a sin ain't great imo either...

In the BBC Northern Soul documentaries, he comes across as someone I would like to punch more than once.

I respect Ian Levine for his contribution to "HiNRG" music which was a vital force in the post-disco dance music movement...
