Closer to Heaven revival in London 2015
Re: Closer to Heaven revival in London 2015
I think CTH is for the core fans, but very rewarding if it clicks for you.
Like any musical, if not familiar with it, listen to the album a few times first.
Even CallMeOldFashioned works then.
Try and see a copy of the 1981 CD of Billie Trix's 1970 Hit RunGirlRun
which outraged Nixon and Mao. Run Girl run, you'll be someone...

Re: Closer to Heaven revival in London 2015
Hope you enjoy the show(s)
I wondered what these mysterious additional (reserved seat) tickets were. If a show is sold out I didn't understand how extra tickets could magically appear. Had a look around and found...
Reserved Seats are also released online from today, priced at £30 and available at selected performances. Reserved Seats are guaranteed reservations in the best seats in the theatre, which operates unallocated seating. 100% of the ticket revenue from these seats will contribute towards a profit share between the cast and creative team. Paul Taylor-Mills Ltd said: “We are absolutely delighted that Closer To Heaven has recouped its production costs pre-opening due to an unprecedented 48 hour online sell-out. This means the entire cost of the Reserved Seats will be shared equally amongst the cast, musicians and creative team. The Off West End exists because of the good-will, risk and generosity of the people that decide to work on these shows, and in our fortunate circumstances it feels only right that any financial award is split amongst those giving their time and energy to make the work happen.

The opening from the original in 2001. Quite watchable if you can forgive the low quality. Does any more of this exist? Was it ever filmed 'properly'?

I seem to remember there being a short feature about the 2001 production on BBC London local news (or maybe ITV) and they included some of "My night". The quality would probably be better, if it still exists, but it won't be as long.jamie1978 wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ouzdT5H6p0

How exciting! I saw the original production in London in 2001 and then in Dallas in 2010. Looking forward to seeing it again in London the weekend of May 15, 2015!
