I bought Very and Bilingual on LP. Didn't own Bilingual on vinyl yet so I'm quite happy with that.
I noticed something about the cover of Very. For the reissue, the pattern of Neil and Chris heads is the same on the back and the front. The front cover of the reissue has one Chris looking down (whereas the original only has this on the back) and omits the slight variation of Neil's expression.

Reported on Discogs about Please/Further Listening 2CD (2018)..... thoughts?

Remastering glitch at 2:24 on the album version of Opportunities? Seems to cut out early on the (not sure how best to describe this) four keyboard stabs? between the "lets make lots of..." and the " aaahhhh ahhh ahh money" bit.

Listened to both the 2001 and 2018 CDs. If there is a glitch, I don't hear it.

I bought Please to Bilingual reissues way back in 2001. I have only bought Nightlife to Elysium 2017/2018 reissues & Please Actually Introspective & Release Vinyl reissues & will buy Bilingual on Vinyl. Not keen on buying all reissues again, my Actually & Very 2001 reissues carry a lot of weight with Neil & Chris signing on both. Reading these comments about a superior sound quality on the latest batch has got me wondering....Are they much of an improvement to fork out again??

Anyone else hear a slight glitch at the very beginning of '"The Survivors", in the first couple of seconds?

Again, I listened to both the 2001 and 2018 CDs. If there is a glitch and I think I know what you mean, it isn't actually a glitch. I'd like a second opinion either way. Once I put the cans on, I will be scrutinizing these remasters. I've listened to the 3 vinyls and the remastering is worth every penny.

Not a glitch, more like a dropout for a milisecond at the beginning.

Just listened to the 2001 version and it seems to be there too. So deliberate I guess? In IT terms, "it's not a bug, it's a feature".
Never noticed it before. Maybe the remaster makes it clearer or something.

Just played Bilingual. I can only reiterate what others have said - these remasters are excellent, they render the others obsolete in my view.
This is great news. I can't decide which one to listen to first, but I might start with Bilingual. Always had this weird affection for this album - even though it's far from their best. It just has that incredible melancholic feeling throughout and it's quirky, out of the ordinary with its sound.

Also, It always comes as a surprise is by far their best electronic ballad, in my view.

The Bilingual remaster is a proper revelation: The Survivors no longer sounds mawkish, Up Against It becomes more than a repeated hook, Saturday Night Forever reveals depths to the music that wasn't apparent before. Even Metamorphosis has become, if not likeable, then at least it is a track you don't feel automatically inclined to skip past. I'm hoping the other two remasters (unlistened-to so far) are just as good.

And you are quite right about It always comes as a surprise: the reception of Bilingual might have been quite different if they had stuck to their original choice of making this the lead single.

I still firmly believe there's no real improvement. It's just the fact that for the last 10 years we've listened to the albums on streaming and inferior MP3s so when we actually put on a cd and actually "listen", all we are hearing are all the subtle nuances that were always there but have subsequently been "lost" on our 256kps MP3s.....

I'm sure i'll be shouted down now but hey-ho!

I'm listening to FLAC mostly, so lossless and I think there's a newly found vibrance, especially to albums like Nightlife, Bilingual and Very. The new remasters are certainly an improvement over the old ones, which came out of the brickwalled noughties - as for comparison with original CDs, I can't say much because I haven't had the opportunity to familiarize with those.

Listening to Very right now and at the very end of A Different Point Of View / beginning of Dreaming Of The Queen there's a weird hiss in the right channel - almost like a vinyl sound. Can't remember if the 2001 version had that - anyone care to check and confirm?

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

I'm very curious about the "2018 remaster" sound of this last trilogy...

Just recently I had the chance to closely compare Please and Actually 2018 vs 2001 remasters (I´m not sure about buying Introspective 2018 yet...) ...and I must say that the decition is complicated. On some tracks I prefer 2001 (more "bright"), on a few others 2018 (more "depth"), and from many of them (mostly on th Further lintening CDs) I hear no difference...
Or maybe, because I tend to light "bright" sound, I must say that (if I have to choose one) 2001 is the winner for me...

Also curious to know if there are any "real" differences on the Behavior/Very/Bilingual tracks (as happened with "Violence" and "I want To wake up").
Anybody spotted something??
This is not my signature.

Has anybody already received Behaviour/Very/Bilingual 2018 CDs from the official store? Or has anybody at least got shipment notification? Nothing for me so far :? .
