Here are very rare and new stuff on Soundcloud. Anyone has buyed the original PSB Fairlight Disks and he has mixed the tracks together and has post it on Soundcloud. Amazing to hear the different original PSB Sounds in the Songs. You can hear West End Girls, Opportunities (Old Grey Whistle Test Version), Two Divided by Zero, Love Comes Quickly and Violence.

enjoy

Wow this is brilliant, thanks! Can almost see them sitting there punching in the notes.

Just to be clear... the vocal sample in Love comes quickly is from PSB, not a default sound in the Fairlight?

There's a video on this page too: http://synthroom.com/fairlight-cmi/psb- ... b-lovequi/

I'm probably last to realise here, but there is a Peter Vogel cmi app with over 500 original sounds.

Love comes quickly contains their most sublime bassline imo, wonder if it was a preset or they programmed it....

Perhaps we should have more discussions on how Neil & Chris programme their music.

It's amazing how effective these simple 8-bit, 8 track bass and percussion backing tracks are.

Wow! This guy obtained the original floppy disks PSB programmed!? That's amazing.
They sound great too, very interesting to hear.

Edit: There's a similar finding by another person, possibly the same guy but the video is years older.

I think the Fairlight discs that contained these files was sold on ebay in February last year. They came from the estate of assistant programmer Adrien Cook.

That's interesting, I never thought of Opportunities being in 4/4 time....

Nope. It seems a lot more sophisticated than that. It sounds like a kind of robotic 2 step rhythm.

I can see what you mean in terms of the drum programming, yeah.
