World cup theme

#1 Post by PETHEAD72 » Sun 30 Mar 2014, 11:49 am

The world cup theme for UK's bbc and itv channels have probably already been produced by whoever was chosen...i wonder if PSB were approached, and could there even be a possibility that they have produced a theme for either channel?

The only thing that'll be used is Breathing Space as the new Numb when England get knocked out again.
This is a song about boys and girls. You hear it playing all over the world.

I can't decide whether that '86 music is a sublime work or a load of crap!

It's no Rendez-Vous 98, but still pretty inspired.

I remember snatches of España '82 but Mexico '86 is the first World Cup where I was really paying close attention.

Anyway I just found the extended version of the BBC's theme...
We are star stuff which has taken its destiny into its own hands. The loom of time and space works the most astonishing transformations of matter. We are a way for the universe to know itself.

LOL. A shimmering slice of electronic pop with an admittedly pointless guitar solo.

Odd. I don't remember that one single bit, but I most definitely remember the one Patrick posted.

I too only remember bits of '82. I do remember this though:

Of course, the only REAL great football song is this one (followed at a bit of distance by Baddiel / Skinner / Lightning Seeds):

Pretty sub-standard New Order thought weren't it. I like one of the remixes, it's the Terry Farley one i think.
