Surely Electric is proving to be their most critically lauded album of their career? Perhaps Very was equally well received, but aside from that...

Only time will tell if it will remain there, but it has certainly snuck into my top 3. It's weird that I've, I dunno, *allowed* Behaviour and Very to become these sacred cows that will never and should never be topped. I always assume(d) that V & B would remain at the top and each new release would, of course, slip in somewhere beneath.
But it dawned on me the other day, while playing Electric in the car, that - hang on - THIS is not only right up there, but possibly even above both. Could it be true?

Electric is an incredible piece of work. A work of art that has left me flabbergasted.

Second "The Guardian" review, by Kitty Empire, this time 3/5:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2013/ju ... ric-review
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."
(Neil Tennant, speaking about "Elysium" on the eve of "Electric" release.)

Die Kunst der Subversion - now this is a superb title, so defining for PSB.
