Actually ranks so low because I've become overused to it. And the production is dated, but not in a way that has retro appeal (as Please does, and Intro to some extent). The albums are all great except the last two. I wouldn't have become a fan if Nightlife or Bilingual had been my first exposure.

Always very tough but:

1. Please
About as close to a perfect pop album as you can get. It's magic, really. And to think that it even includes an inferior version of Suburbia.

2. Introspective
Would have been perfect had it not been for the meh version of It's Alright (single version much better). First five tracks are all absolutely stunning.

So those two are definitely my top 2 PSB albums. From here on out it gets a bit tougher:

3. Actually
During the 90's I had convinced myself that Actually wasn't really all that. As an album it doesn't hang together nearly as well as most of their other albums, but I've gradually changed my mind. You can't really argue with the quality of these song. I do think it would have been far better if Shopping and Hit Music had been exchanged with A New Life (properly produced) and You Know Where You Went Wrong (Do I Have To hadn't been recorded yet at the time).

4. Behaviour
I was gravely disappointed when Behaviour was released, but as for many other people it grew tremendously on me to the point that I in the early 90's regarded it as my favourite PSB album. However, in later years I have found myself only playing it rarely and preferring the earlier works to this. Still an awesome album though.

Now it gets really tough ranking them, so I'm gonna group them:

5-7. Yes, Nightlife and Very
I feel sort of similarly about all these albums. Love them all, but none are as brilliant as the early albums. All also have a few duff tracks. I think arguably Nightlife works best as an album of the three, while the actual songs are better on Very and Yes.

8. Fundamental
Really liked it upon Release, but quickly became a bit bored with it.

9-11. Release, Elysium and Bilingual
I don't dislike any of these albums, but I like them much less than the other PSB albums.

The position of Elysium is tentative, as I haven't listened that much to it yet and obviously the quality of the leak is poor.

I find it really hard to rank them.

They're all great and quite unique. Each bring their own worth and not always comparable.

It's very early to do this, but my list would currently be something like:

The masterpieces:
1. Very
2. Behaviour

The great albums:
3. Actually
4. Please
5. Introspective
6. Yes
7. Bilingual
8. Elysium

Good but not great:
9. Nightlife
10.Fundamental
11.Release

Elysium
Actually
Introspective
Fundamental

....................then a huge gap

Release
Yes
Nightlife

For Elysium to sit almost in the middle with the elite 7, his a incredible achievement.

And Nightlife not all that bad, it would have been a lot higher if it had ended on Radiophonic.

This is as close of a ranking and reasoning of all PSB music that I have seen that is similar to my own. So now I don't have to rank myself :)

Elysium probably ranks last or second from last with Release. Release is probably the weaker album technically, but the album means a lot to me. Elysium is new, and I still haven't heard CD quality, but it's disappointing me like Release did at first.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'
"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]
[BOOSH! BOOSH!] (What was that?) Pet Shop Boys
