The silence
The silence
It's now been virtually two months since the official website was updated and even the Pet texts have dried up, has there ever been such a lengthy period of complete silence? Obviously they will have been on holiday since the Take That support finished but it's not like the TT tour was particularly stenuous, especially once the UK dates finished.
My question is, do you think this is because there is simply nothing to report or do you think they are waiting so they can announce they are ready to enter the studio and reveal who will be producing the next album? Even if the latter was the case it would still be longer between Yes and the new album than the period between Fundamental and Yes.

I think they're working on the new album and we can expect a release in spring 2012.

Re: The silence
I agree with Patrick. It is six weeks since the Take That tour finished. They probably had a holiday for a few weeks and are now writing and recording, hence the silence. Let's hope we get a brand-spanking-new album in 2012!
Prick up your ears.
Re: The silence
They're not young men anymore.
Also.... Neil needs time to soak up some ideas, and have some life experiences to get depressed over ... and write about them
We know they have some tracks, and we know they are constantly writing..... but I doubt they'd hit the studio any time soon.

Re: The silence
I noticed that after long periods of silence they come with great news. Earlier this year it was the announcement of them touring with Take That. So, I guess they will tell us about the new album soon!

Re: The silence
I prefer the silence, rather than just put anything up.
I see a new album next Summer/Autumn.

No, I love and miss all the Pet Texts and random stuff. At the moment, I'd most like to hear about whether they're progressing with the new album they mentioned earlier this year, though.Undertaker wrote:I prefer the silence, rather than just put anything up.

Re: The silence
No silence for me today. I went to the closing of my local Borders, an expensive book/CD chain store in the US that has gone bankrupt. When I walked it they were playing So Hard, then came Being Boring, then Streets, I imagine you can guess what came after. A pleasant surprise. And it wasn't too bad that they had Eno and David Sylvian new CDs for 2 bucks.

Re: The silence
I reckon a new album /autumn next year, as they will probably fanny about.
Personally I reckon they should lock themselves in a studio with Richard X and Trentemoller and produce a 10 track album to release next Feb./March, purely electronic - no strings, no Elton, no orchestral arrangements (wonderful though they've been in the past)
I would love to hear a album produced along the lines of the manifesto for Fundamental (ie. not having 10 plus musicians on a track)

Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.
