Neil Tennant nautis Leigo järvemuusikat

#1 Post by NC2E »

I stumbled upon this online:

Pet Shop Boys'i laulja Neil Tennant nautis Leigo järvemuusikat

Neil Tennant of Pet Shop Boys Enjoyed Leigo Lake Music

The singer of the world-famous band Pet Shop Boys visited Estonia at the end of last week and enjoyed Leigo lake music classical concert and light show with his Estonian friends.

The Leigo lake music festival that took place from 5th to 6th August 2011 was visited by many celebrities, among them the singer of the world-famous band Pet Shop Boys, Neil Tennant, who was accompanied by concert promoter and a good friends of his, Peeter Rebane, and acclaimed young conductor, Paavo Nõgene. [It's a mistake. It's his father who's the conductor. Paavo Nõgene is the general manager of the Vanemuine theatre] When asked to be photographed by Buduaar, the star said no and wished to enjoy the concert in private.

Neil likes Estonia and has spent time incognito here many times during the last ten years. Last summer Pet Shop Boys also filmed their music video in different places in Estonia [actually, that was in autumn]. You can see the video below.

The shearer's island is back! :)
Glad to see he's doing well.
And everything about tonight feels right and so young
And anything I'd want to say out loud will be sung
It's in the music...

Oh nice picture - thanks for sharing - not his usual attire and thankfully he has allowed his hair to reappear.
I did wonder what he was doing as he has gone quiet on us since the Take That concert finished.
Nice bit of info

Very well. And relaxed.

Oh, and I agree with the hair, Vic and billiejo; much nicer than the 'all bald look', I think.

We create our own little culture and world and ideas of our own, and part of that comes from not totally fitting in. Having links with lots of things, having a very broad attitude and different interests, I think that’s what we all need." (Neil Tennant, 2009)

Not entirely a new sight but he doesn't normally go open necked.

My estonian friend pointed the article to me a couple of days ago. I visited Viljandi (in southern Estonia) in June. Too bad I missed this festival. If I knew...... Damn! But well, he didn't want people to know.

-I´ve got a 12-inch plonker.

Kroonika has published this article: "It was a pleasant surprise to have Neil Tennant of Pet Shop Boys visit the 2nd day of the Leigo lake music festival. Neil sat between Paavo Nõgene (left) and Peeter Rebane (right). He was sipping A.Le Coq beer, waved to the photographer and smiled friendly."

"Neil liked Leigo very much. Thanks to the farm owner for the invitation!" Peeter said. "He liked the place and the atmosphere as well as people and food. The only criticism was about sound quality that really was very bad."

I've been wondering if this was/is actually a current photo of him... - since on the latest pic in the Pet Texts (29th July) his head looks all shaved (no Shearer's island , @Vic), and according to the above quoted article, that music festival took place from 5th to 6th August, so his hair must have grown rapidly... See also: "When asked to be photographed by Buduaar, the star said no and wished to enjoy the concert in private." So I guess it's an older photo.

(PS: Oh my, we're discussing his hair... I do hope he doesn't read this. )

You do have a point, though. They probably used an old photo. Oh well!
(and if you ARE reading this, Neil... please grow your hair back! 8) )
