it had all the factors required to be a massive hit at least in the UK, topical for the times, it musically was what people except from the PSB, had a hit comedy team in the video, but I dont think it had much to offer outside the UK or europe.
if you go to clubs here they just arent playing that style. its still all drum beats and rappers.
A middle hit, not oustanding but not so bad. In Italy has had a good airplay and a good position in chart. For sure, it will be in the next PSB greatest hits.
Depends on what you consider good. The number 8 result was the best result since "Drunk" in 2000. And considering the fact that Drunk was released in the most quiet week of the year, the result of I'm with stupid is the best since "Se A Vida E" made #8 in 1996. Not bad going.
Yea suppose your right. But I can't help but wonder would they ever get the same success as they did during the 80's and early 90's..
The could've done a better job with the video, much better playing with the political idea. It was "comic" in the UK, but here, it simply looks pathetic.

So?
Who cares how it went down in America? They don't care about PSB, so why should PSB care about them.
I'm not surprised the yanks thought it was pathetic. Their humour and British humour are totally different. We get some American comedies and shows over here and they are an instant turn off. Full of loud mouths and you end up wondering was there really any point.
I'm With Stupid was a decent hit here. It never stayed around for long but a top ten and quite healthy first week sales. Their best for a long time.
