Fundamental era weakest link - FINAL: Fugitive vs Integral

#1 Post by BlueSwan »

As predicted, round seventeen proved very exciting with each of the three contestants looking to lose out at different points.

To illustrate how close it was, heres a rundown of the score from each of the four pages:

PAGE ONE:
Fugitive: 2
Integral: 7
Minimal: 4

Integral takes an early lead

PAGE TWO:
Fugitive: 4 (total 6)
Integral: 1 (total 8)
Minimal: 7 (total 11)

A flush of votes gives Minimal the lead, while Integral recovers

PAGE THREE:
Fugitive: 7 (total 13)
Integral: 3 (total 11)
Minimal: 0 (total 11)

Minimal recovers, while Fugitive takes the lead with a sudden influx of votes.

PAGE FOUR:
Fugitive: 2 (total 15)
Integral: 2 (total 13)
Minimal: 8 (total 19)

In the end Minimal takes a decisive lead and is booted out.

So the final is between

Integral
Fugitive

I'm gonna vote to boot Integral

A good song and a great live track, but doesn't even begin to approach the utter genius of Fugitive - easily my favourite PSB track of this decade.

Fugitive - mediocre production values and a little weak...

P.S. Thanks BlueSwan for doing my absentee votes and for doing this whole voting thing... it's been pretty cool. :P

Integral...
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."
(Neil Tennant, speaking about "Elysium" on the eve of "Electric" release.)

I can't believe it's down to these two... Although i like them both Fugitive is a bit basic and Integral dated...

Minimal should have won.

Tempted to spoil my ballot paper but i'll vote to bin Fugitive.
