Fundamental era weakest link - ROUND ONE

#1 Post by BlueSwan »

Before Disco 4 gets under way, I thought we'd do a weakest link of the entire Fundamental era. Sure, I could just go ahead and post an Integral vs Fugitive poll right ahead, but what's the fun in that?

Here are the tracks:

Psychological
The Sodom And Gomorrah Show
I Made My Excuses And Left
Minimal
Numb
God Willing
Luna Park
Casanova In Hell
Im With Stupid
Twentieth Century
Indefinite Leave To Remain
Integral
Fugitive
In Private (w. Elton John)
Girls Don't Cry
The Resurrectionist
Blue On Blue
Party Song
Bright Young Things

Note that I have not included "No Time For Tears", as I don't really regard it as a Fundamental era track. It's just a slightly edited version of a track we already had, not a rerecording like "In Private".

Vote now.

No, because it's not part of a PSB release. But I can definitely understand your urge to vote it off. Let's just agree that it sucks and leave it there.

Hmmm...I'll go for Integ..... Actually, no, Party Song by a considerable distance. PSB songs really shouldn't contain the lyrics 'bump and grind' and bizarrely segue into 'Thats The Way (I Like It)' towards the end.

"Girls Don't Cry". One of their weakest b-side and song ever.
Interestingly, how it'll sort with similar themed Geowayne's polls and rating project ("Blue on Blue" and "Tranquilizer" as so-called winners).
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."
(Neil Tennant, speaking about "Elysium" on the eve of "Electric" release.)

Party Song.
Neil Tennant has a great voice, Chris Lowe has great silence.
