Pet Shop Boys & Robbie Williams

#1 Post by skorpion76 »

You have maybe heard this and discussed this before in another thread, but I just want to say that the songs in which Robbie has got help from Pet Shop Boys are really great songs. One of the best is "No Regrets" and of course Robbie's song "We're the Pet Shop Boys" is great. That was all i wanted to say.

No Regrets IMO is the best PSB/Robbie song.

I am struggling to find full lyrics for No regrets — including ALL the lines that Neil sings. Some of Neil's lines are included here but not all. For example, all the backing lines in the "I know from the outside.." verse are missing. Could anyone post the full lyrics here please?

No Regrets isn't much of a collab besides just Neil on backing vocals

She's Madonna is the deal for me!

She’s Madonna is a fantastically clever record - very much an archetypal PSB record. I was going to suggest it in the other thread as the ‘surprising’ track but I felt its just too much of a RW record.

Didn’t PSB produce (or co-produce) the Sander Van Doorn vs Robbie Williams track ‘Close My Eyes’ too?
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning. :|

That's a remix of "We're the Pet Shop Boys" which Robbie recorded.

We're The Pet Shop Boys is not a Robbie Williams song, it is a song by My Robot Friend titled We Are The Pet Shop Boys, the boys covered it a year later and then Robbie covered it again on Rudebox.

Yes, but they did produce it, right?

I’m pretty sure the Robbie version is the same backing track as the Chris Zippel / PSB version from the Pet Shop Boys’ recording.
Woof.

Yes, but we're talking about the Sander van Doorn remix. And although PSB are stated as producer, like most remixes they probably have little to do with it. It's there because they produced the original. If it says: "Remix and additional production by...", then it's a remix by someone who got the stems and made his own version (like most remixes).

Yes I’m sure they won’t have had any further involvement.

"We're the petshopboys" is in my top 10 of all time favorite Neil vocals. his vocal is huge and shimmering.
