Re: All Over The World EP Release Date: December 11th/14th

Thing is, to a non PSB fan , all the Boys music falls under two catergories "Camp" or "Pretentious". If that's the (old) perception after all these years, then I fault the public for not being able to move on. To me - and correct me if I'm wrong - the last "camp" thing they did was the Nightlife-er...

Re: Up and down

Tom's remix is shit, while the b-side is class, IMO. Tom's remix of New York city boy was killer, I thought. (Where/how/when did it all go wrong!?) Up and down is one of my favorite b-sides in awhile (since the resurrectionist) and definitely the best from the "Yes era" so far to these ears. Differ...

Re: So, should "Fugitive" have been a single?

Conceptually, Integral/Fugitive would've made a killer double A-side single.

Like Rorie, I also created an edit for myself and it was far, far better than the edit on the BP single.

I agree with Markus. Simply put, a good song is a good song regardless of genre, artist or fashion.

Re: Wow. West End girls and "Like an Eagle" disco influence?

I've always said this and I'm just now going to say this for the first time in public despite being a HUGE fan: Pet Shop Boys are masters of musical appropriation . That's the genius behind what they do. I really don't care to argue the point. Politely said, either you understand it and g...

Re: Wow. West End girls and "Like an Eagle" disco influence?

Definitely the same notes - but you can't trademark three notes though. I don't think it was necessarily lifted - but Neil (PSB, really) have borrowed pieces here and there both lyrically and musically. You can't deny that. When Neil is being very honest and candid, he'll admit it. Even Chris has a...

Even the Chris Zippel Radio remix couldn't save it!

There's even a unique Neil spoken intro and middle section describing actions and scenery that is truly awful... In fact the only thing I like about this version is the jazzy guitar solo and the crisp production.

Q: But still, to have sold that many millions of records, but not to be so famous it becomes unbearable… Neil, answering somewhat later) Like, a taxi driver said to me, “What you doing now, Neil, I s’pose you’re more less retired, are you?” I said, “You’re driving me to Top of the Pops.” Now ...

Wonderful? Eh. I don't see what was so wonderful about it. Nothing against either of you, really. Different strokes and all that. I do agree that N&C should sort out any artwork before any live recording of a show be made. It only makes sense given their high level of professionalism and aesthetic,...

Re: Live @ Dour - Festival !! Why not sell it after the show??

In 2005, Pop Will Eat Itself had a DVD of a Sunday gig at Birmingham's Carling Academy that was released the following day, which apparently made history as the fastest release of a live performance on DVD. Multiple camera shot and a cracking live recording to boot Sure, it was a blank DVD-R with a...

Re: They did Elvis, they could do Michael

Not that I want them to cover Michael Jackson, but I'll go for Pretty Young Thing. I Neil could use his 'girl voice' (his words) like he did on Before. Chris could also make an appearance on the vocoder as well.

It could be a real stomper if done right...
