Re: What has been released on 'defunct' formats?

It's possible that Please could have been issued on 8-track by the Columbia House record club, though I doubt they did.

Re: winner 12 "

There were a lot of stinker Drunk mixes. However, "Attaboy still love you when you're sober mix" is a not oft-mentioned excellent remix. And if I remember right it clocks in at under 5 minutes. I often listen to it over the single/album version. The version on the CD single is an edit. The full-len...

Re: winner 12 "

Drunk wasn't exactly remix material, but still had three discs. ...which was just a trick to push the song higher on the charts by getting fans to buy it three times. Those remixes were painfully bad (and not even full length; you needed the 12" for those). The one decent revision of the song, the ...

Re: New B-Side album called Format set for February 2012 rel

If it's going to be b-sides up to 2009, it's going to need to be a 3CD set, even if they drop the Christmas songs and remixes... in which case, they might as well put everything on.

Re: Second-hand Pet Shop Boys

Arthur Baker mixes of Suburbia, in great condition, for $1 CAD.

The same store had a battered copy of the regular US 12" and wanted $7 for it.

Even more sampled is "Think" by Lyn Collins. I think there was a law that every dance track made between about 1988 - 1993 had to have a sample of that in it somewhere.

Re: Go West v Go West lyrics

Anyway he should be able to find out about the correct lyrics. He could have asked the writers of the song! Jacques Morali was either dead or dying, and Victor Willis wouldn't have been easy to trace as he likely had no fixed address. Henri Belolo likely didn't have anything to do with the actual s...

Re: How PSB could make money without any new song

7. The Sound Of The Atom Splitting [3:37] 8. The Sound Of The Atom Splitting (Extended Version) [5:13] Again, the exact same song , one just fades out earlier. If someone creates a mix tape where they fade the song out after a minute, then start it again and fade it out after one and a half minutes...

Re: How PSB could make money without any new song

And the fifth CD of each box set could a further listening with rare material. In this case we could have... 4. 10:01 Paninaro (ian levine full mix) This doesn't excists. Really, I have that version and it's exactly the same as the regular 12" it's just slower and that makes it longer but it really...

Re: How PSB could make money without any new song

It's the same song. There's just less of it. With some singles, you get to the point where you have a dozen different edits of the exact same mix of the same song . You might as well have a CD full of the same edit and call it US 7", UK 7", DE 7", NL 7"... after all, even though they're the same son...

Re: How PSB could make money without any new song

This is something that drove me nuts about the Recycle project: obsessive fans treating every different edit and early fade as if it were an entirely new track. Suburbia Part Two is nothing more than a fade-in and fade-out of a couple of minutes of The Full Horror. There's no need to include it beca...

Re: How PSB could make money without any new song

Suburbia Part Two is merely an excerpt from The Full Horror and thus redundant.
