Re: Synthesized voice on Hoping for a Miracle

It does sound like that, but I’d love to know how you’re so sure.

That's pretty plausible too. Darn, I'd love to know what it really is now!!!

Re: Synthesized voice on Hoping for a Miracle

I do believe you're right! Well at least, that's all I can hear now. (having said that, someone once told me to imagine the line "We're up all night to get lucky" in Daft Punk's song where the robots start singing as "We rub a Mexican monkey" - perhaps I'm just easily convinced)....

Re: Synthesized voice on Hoping for a Miracle

Hi! I thought that, but it's a fairly short sample like "Da Da Da -Dada-aaa" LOL, that example probably makes no sense :-)

Synthesized voice on Hoping for a Miracle

Still enjoying Hotspot here and love "Hoping for a Miracle", but what on earth is that synthesized voice saying at the start and at intervals through the song? It's clearly saying some sort of words. Perhaps it's completely obvious and I'm the only other person in the world who doesn't get...

Re: Happy people

It's one of those examples of the perfect three (ish) minute pop song that they do so well. "Did you see me coming?" "Before" etc. I'd love them to release it as is and then give it to a few bands like maybe Hot Chip and say "When you get to the middle bit, just go with it, ...

Re: Future duet

I do think there's room in this world for a PSB/Adele collab. I love her voice, but have never really loved her songs. I'd love to hear what they could do with each other (so to speak).

Re: A New (and Temporary) Pet Shop Boys Trivia Game!

I bought "Please" in 1986 and bought and read everything since. I think I might have known one of these. I'm clearly the weakest link. Goodbye :-)

Re: "Winner" - the love and hate battle of this forum

I always think it's quite pleasant. It will never be in my top ten songs, but it's fantastically produced and I guess, a product of it's time.

Re: Being Boring At 30

I don't post here a lot, but I'll never forget being at a funeral for a friend who died of AIDS. They played this and the whole room was in tears. You can argue about the best PSB song (and I change my mind monthly), but this has to be the most powerful.
A masterpiece, pure and simple.

Tell me I'm dumb. but if they released a Kindle/Apple Books/whatever version of this, wouldn't they make a few pounds at least?

Re: Oddball Matchup Round 2: Bolshy has new competition

I think Bolshy has the most amazing (is it called a bridge?) in the middle where it works up to the final chorus. It's one of my favorites on Electric. I quite like Winner though hate the way Neil sings "Let's enyoyidoooorrrlll while it lasts" :-) It's kinda middle of the road and doesn't ...
