It's a trend across pop music, and apparently it's all to do with the effect of streaming https://fortune.com/2019/01/17/shorter-songs-spotify/
I'm constantly amazed over how society leaps into stupidity in all areas.

Re: Shorter songs - Annoying

Songs have always been 3 minutes. It's because of the limitation of the bearer, the 7". Look at Very. All songs are around the 3 or 4 minute mark with the exception of Go West and The Theater. Electric is PSB's Introspective of the 2010s imho. Yes but Very is of a very different genre, pop songs wi...

Shorter songs - Annoying

Is this a trend, a new standard we have to get used to. I don't like all tracks from Electric but what I do liked was the longer songs. Then with Super the songs got shorter and not only that, I got the feeling they were cut shorter. There was so much music in the songs that they deserved to be 6 mi...

Re: Musik - Cabaret and EP

For me two tracks stand out from Musik EP. Mongrel and For every moment. I could even go as far as to say they are masterpieces. The lyrics have reached another level. Did they have help from Jonathan Harvey in writing the lyrics for the songs? Mongrel stays true though to Neils interest in Russian ...

Re: Today I listened to Elysium for the first time since 2012...

There's only one or two cohesive PSB albums:

Disco and perhaps Very but really only Disco, perhaps the best album they ever made thought it should've been fleshed out with AMCGA and WTWIW

Re: Final results of poll on three favorite songs of the "Behaviour era"

And now looking at the Bilingual era options, I reckon I could have picked about 10-15 options from the Behaviour era poll, over even my favourite song from the Bilingual period. Doing it this way really brings the decline into stark focus... By no means a decline. Some of my favourite PSB tunes ar...

Re: This product is unfortunately not available in your country

I am aware of the possibilites of downloading from Youtube et al but the point being here is the possibility of paying for premium quality and getting hold of a few tracks I don't have. I'm thinking mostly of Most incredible thing and a few remixes.

This product is unfortunately not available in your country

I try to buy digital tracks from the PSB store but I only get the terrible error message " This product is unfortunately not available in your country". The country in question would be Sweden. Why is it so? what can be done about it?

Re: Which last PSB song made you feel excited (like in the old days)?

Love is a bourgeois construct btw there was no "old days" for me. I entered the fandom in the mid 2000s so the old days have been long gone. I came in in 1987 as a little kid, guess it was the It's a sin-hype but my first record was Disco so the first excitement was that whole album, the LCQ-mix se...

Re: Of course it might just be me........

I'm happy the have moved on. Electric was a really good bunch of songs although as an album it had its flaws (Bolshy and Last to die don't belong on the album and the last minutes of Vocal lacked the majesty of its beginning). Super was completely wrong-produced. It should've been filled with longer...

Exactly, and before that Leaving and A face like that. But I have to confess Wiedersehen was overwhelming.

Re: Today I listened to Elysium for the first time since 2012...

I've now, after finally getting the Further listening-issue, come to terms with Elysium. I can accept all tracks now apart from Ego Music but I still think Invisible is at least 1 minute too long, Winner is a superb track to begin with but the ending is too much of a pop cliché. I therefore remove E...

Re: A new decade a new phase: 20's

Sad but true, the 20's might be the last PSB decade. Neil will be 75 in 2029. There will probably be one or two albums in the 20's but I really hope they will start revisiting the past properly with box sets from the archives, boxes full of remixes, outtakes, demos, live versions, pictures and thic...

Re: Today I listened to Elysium for the first time since 2012...

No we wouldn't complain if Behaviour came out tomorrow. The fact is that Ego Music and Your early stuff are not album material - the sounds and the lyrics are b-side-material, no arguement about that. Elysium starts and ends with two of PSBs best songs ever and there are a few superb tunes in betwee...
