Re: Discovery 1994 - DVD/CD-Release

bluray is a useless, and dying format. Blu-ray is hardly useless; it's vastly superior to HD streaming, which can't compare in terms of compression. and the original video quality is SD. so no point in putting it on a bluray Standard definition looks better on Blu-ray than DVD due to better compres...

Imagine being this ignorant and sociopathic.

The US death toll alone is now exceeding a 9/11 event daily.

It really has encompassed the year. 1.5 million deaths, 64 million cases, economies and lifestyles destroyed.
I remember certain posters here dismissing it as fiction earlier this year...

Re: Pet Shop Boys & Robbie Williams

I like a few of his singles but was always repelled by his persona. He always seemed over-needy and desperate to appeal to the lowest common denominator - so for every Feel, there's a Rock DJ. I can't argue with that, but it's worth pointing out that in the Rock DJ video he doesn't appeal - that's ...

Re: Pet Shop Boys & Robbie Williams

Maybe I'm alone on this, but I think every song yiu named there is as bad as one's you didn't. I don't think you're alone in allowing your bias to cloud your objectivity, no. We run into this as PSB fans all the time. And if you've listened to his catalog deeply enough to know stuff from his fan-cl...

No Regrets, Feel, The '80s, Decepticon, The BRITS... his body of work has some fantastic songs in it. I think it may be easier to see as an outsider, free from the cultural baggage that surrounds him.

Robbie Williams is actually a fantastic lyricist, though. She's Madonna is very much in his voice.

Re: funko Pops

Funko usually unveils pops pretty close to their release date, so I imagine it's November for the US and February for Europe.

Disappointed they went with '80s versions. Would have much preferred the Go West costumes, or at least a more contemporary look for Neil.

They cite four songs and misinterpret three of them! Stunning lack of critical analysis there.

I don't have to do anything. Nor am I trying to convince you of anything. I know how the industry operated in the '80s. Whether or not you believe me changes nothing.
Like I said, we don't know

Re: IT COULDN’T HAPPEN HERE BLU-RAY SCORE A SEMITONE LOWER

Do you have a citation for that? lol But I pretty much doubt that PMI , a UK promo company would mostly target US market (and therefore choose their technical standards). A lot of UK film media of the time was made with export in mind - especially considering the size of the US market. The primary ...

Re: IT COULDN’T HAPPEN HERE BLU-RAY SCORE A SEMITONE LOWER

Well I would not know that directly, but I am reasonably sure that they were 25 fps for the same reason: why would PMI shoot at 24 fps if the target was PAL TV/VHS? Because the target probably wasn't PAL TV and it certainly wasn't PAL VHS. Home video was a negligible consideration - videos were mar...

Interesting.

Were the filmed (as opposed to taped) '80s PSB videos shot at 24fps or 25fps?
