Re: Which song Pet Shop Boys could cover in the future?

Maybe a Leonard Cohen song. Boys know how to disintegrate a song into its fragments only to bring them together in the most unusual and startling way. The farther the source genre is, the better they do this cover thing (is this a gramatically true sentence.?) And Leonard Cohen songs are quite open ...

Re: 4th single off Hotspot - I Don't Wanna

I am very sad that I could get neither Hotspot nor CD singles because after Corona outbreak, Amazon's international shipping costs became ridiculously high (there is only one option and it is the costliest one) and just one CD costs one-fourth of minimum wage, given the fact that £ is highly apprec...

Re: Spinning vinyl

Similiar to these vnyl versions. there is a surge of Youtube posts from early PSB catalogue in the last two months (actually during Covid 19 times). For example, there are nearly ten different "West End Girls" posts under different names, like, "Greatests Hits", "I Love 80s", "Best 80 Songs", "Class...

Re: Desert Island Decades: Your Ten Essential Tracks

Yes, I know this topic is very old; almost from another age ano I know it actually spans decades. But this is the closest thing that I could find about top ten PSB tracks. But I just revived it just to congratulate myself that after so many years, a new PSB song broke into my top ten, say, since 200...

Re: Just listened to Relentless - it's not very good

I cannot imagina how one (I mean an electronic music or PSB fan ) finds Relentless "not very good". Forever in Love, and the hidden, criminally underrated and overlooked masterpiece One Thing Leads to Another with all its phony "ohh yeah"s, are enough to fall in love with that beauty. I will never e...

Re: Q1. How many songs have "I Love You" in them...

I thought that All Over the World also features "I love you" because that part of the song started to spin around my head but I checked and saw it was "I want you". More or less isn't it the same thing? :D

Re: Spinning vinyl

It is surprising that they received more views and comments than a regular PSB upload (unless it is a brand new single or a brand new album track or B-side) but commenters appear to be genuine profiles. Uploads of old PSB songs usually attract less views, and even a lesser number of comments, at lea...

I know this is a video section but couldn't think any better place to post this. It is very interesting analysis about the perfect festive hit song (and the prize goes to our Boys' Always On My Mind): https://www.irishnews.com/magazine/daily/2018/12/09/news/music-experts-find-formula-for-perfect-chr...

Bono did not like this track, right? We forward ten years later and U2 released a disco album called POP, way worse than Where the Streets Have No Name

It is interesting to keep track of chart positions. Someone in Israel has probably discovered Nightlife and Disco 3 now and nearly all songs are in top 100 Israel itunes chart, ranking consecutively like 82, 83, 84, 85, 86...

Re: Burning the heather

I am still one of those few unlucky souls who could not love this song even a little bit after so many tries, self- motivation and several listens. No it still sounds so boring I don't even want to remember, I am sorry. As much as this song falls below my radar, I am still crazy about Decide to the ...

Re: Nr 1 single again, after 35 years

I agree with Future Lover, and also would like to note that Dreamland was already a number one single preceding Monkey Business if we are speaking about number ones, and we should all be proud of our Boys as they simultaneously have four singles on the list now.

Re: How could the imperial phase have been prolonged

In Please and Actually, the Boys were the voice of disappointed yuppies in 80s who thought that they could do anything with money. With Domino Dancing, their such image in our subsconcious mind was simply shattered: They evolved from an urban-centric, cold, brutal, self-critic id of our collective m...

Re: Agenda instead of Hotspot

I would just move On Social Media and Forgotten Child to Hotspot instead of Wedding in Berlin and include Decide as the 12th song and Hotspot would be on par with Actually.
