Re: to put things into perspective....

How did Madness' last album do? Another contemporary of the Pet Shop Boys and there was a lot of exposure during the closure of BBC TV Centre. Their album has done quite well, will probably go Gold (100k sales) at some point in the not too distant future. But then, they've marketed and promoted the...

Re: to put things into perspective....

PSB are Shostakovich when compared to Hurts...a truly ordinary act with one good video (not song) to their credit, (It's such a wonderful life)

Re: Forthcoming PSB TV and radio appearances...

Why aren't PSB on Jools Holland? Why do they have a single in the charts (and an album, some way down), but no updates on this promo thread for a week?

Re: Pet Shop Boys Chart Watch Topic *Midweeks In*

It's the t*** who used to go out with Ellie Goulding. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00rl3xp Did you hear what he says after he plays it? The insinuation that if he knows a PSB lyric, then he's gay. What a colossal wanker (even by Radio 1 standards). Plus he can barely pronounce Elysium. Muppet. ...

Re: Winner at #86

Difference is, Love etc is probably one of their best singles of all time. Seriously? :eh: Yup! I'm very much in the 1985-1991 (slight stretch to '93) PSB camp, but Love etc is up there with their best, all a matter of taste though. I feel similarly about Leaving. These 2 singles are light years be...

Re: Ego Music: Why the boys hate Lady Gaga?

My main problem with Adele is that she's a dumb bitch. Brought up by a single mother (thereby receiving state help and going to the state-funded Brit School) then begrudging paying 50% tax when she makes it big. She'll end up becoming a tax exile in due course. Her public whinge re paying 50% tax w...

Re: "Leaving" - digital download release on Sep. 10th

I love a groove to weep to. Leaving is a song that does everything I want a PSB song to do, encapsulating them thematically, without seeming well-worn, revisiting early sounds, without overt reference, remaining in the present.

Leaving is a very good song indeed.

Re: New world tour is planned early next year

Well three things I'd like to see: 1. Include a couple of killer b sides - Sexy Northerner and A Certain Je Ne Sais Quoi would do nicely 2. Drop It's A Sin - yes it's a classic but plenty of others to choose from 3. Don't play the singles versions - love it when they come up with a new direction fo...
