Re: What would you think a future PSB's album should sound like in order to reinvent themselves?

They were doing a fine job of reinvention with Electric and Super (both in my top 5 now.) Alas Hotspit is back to “meh” territory

Re: The revenge of Bobby "O" - Mixed Up World

Bobby O has done some blatant plagiarism in the past. I bought a Divine album a few weeks ago and there's the I Feel Love ripoff Shoot Your Shot, but I didn't know about Love Reaction which is just Blue Monday. When I heard it, I just had to laugh. It's great stuff, mind you. Anyway, in that light ...

Re: Battleship Potemkin - True, accurate sync

Thank you so much for going to all this effort. I really appreciate it as someone who was in Trafalgar Square on that rainy Sunday in September, 2004. It was quite spectauclar at the time with the introduction, the actors and the projections on all these historical buildings. It is a shame that PSB ...

Re: Bring him back - I know who I want to produce the next album

I'd love them to do something with Rick Smith and Karl Hyde from Underworld. I think they would have a very similar dynamic and it would be great to hear what a ''pop' album and 'harder dance' album would sound like. An Underworld/Relentless 2 album would be very exciting. Plus a New Order/PSB/Unde...

Re: Just listened to Relentless - it's not very good

Well, I happen to thin Relentless is exceptionally good. It's bound to sound dated. It's 27 years old. Its dance music. But I can confidently confirm it was played on "The Monster" ride on Blackpool Pleasure Beach, where Chris Lowe used to work, all throughout summer 1994, as My friend and I who had...

Re: Hey, Super - that's a really good album

I absolutely love Super. It’s more consistent than Electric although it doesn’t quite reach its dizzy heights. They are now both in my top 5 albums. The said can’t be said for “Hotspot” which is not the great thing many people are wittering on about. “Hoping for a Miracle” is exceptional. “Willo the...

Re: Review: the most common thought from a non PSB fan about the PSB discography

Anyway, I'd like to know what you think about this review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovUH28yiI3I Mind writing down a summary? I don't wanna watch. Bear in mind he comes from other generation and from USA he didn't live the same passion and fever we were living in 80's and in Europe when and w...

Re: New single - I don't wanna

There are four good track on the album, but the poor ones still overshadow it and as somebody else has already said the album cover is out of focus, just like the music. sadly after the highs of the previous two albums, I just want to whizz it over next door's fence.

Re: Can you make Hotspot better?

No. It's their most perfect album since Very. The order of track selection has obviously been well considered. The fast-slow-fast pacing forms a most pleasing journey, almost like a mega-version of the best dance tracks which feature 'drops' and build to crescendos. I wouldn't change a thing. With ...

Re: Hotspot ratings

6 from me. May have got 7 without Wedding in Berlin and with Decide, An Open Mind or At Rock Bottom on instead. I have absolutely no doubt that Wedding in Berlin's inclusion was a wilful decision to be contrary on either of their part's (although probably Chris, imho.) This is Compared with 9 and 8,...

No Only the dark? Hmmm.
Er, no. Its a tingle-tangle chittering and chattering, spluttering and splattering track. "You are the whine, I want the whine."
That's You are the one you're talking about, not Only the dark.
Yes. I know.

Re: Can you make Hotspot better?

Honestly just remove Wedding and pretend it never existed. The rest of the album, though not great is fine as is for a Stuart Price album. The PSB don't really know how to end and album well . . . for the most part. In my opinion Footsteps and Requiem are the best enders. Saturday Night is not bad ...

Re: Can you make Hotspot better?

it wouldn't be popular, but if I was the producer I would have dropped "you are the one",wedding in berlin, and burning the heather, make them B-sides and tell the boys dont come back until they have tracks more worthy of the main album than those. the rest...are very good although I tend to sleep o...

No Only the dark ? Hmmm. Er, no. Its a tingle-tangle chittering and chattering, spluttering and splattering track. "You are the whine, I want the whine." I have however realised a heinous crime of forgetting to include "Decide" a crime almost as bad as closing an album with "Wedding in Berlin", so ...

Can you make Hotspot better?

For me, at least, I can :

1. Willo the wisp.
2. At rock bottom.
3. Happy people.
4. Dreamland.
5. Hoping for a miracle.
6. I don't wanna.
7. Monkey business.
8. No Boundaries.
9. An Open mind.
10. Burning the heather.
