Re: Discovery 1994 - DVD/CD-Release
This is exciting news, I never got the VHS but have seen the concert somewhere on TV many years ago. Is it 4:3 ratio though? Pretty sure 16:9 wasn't a thing back then (although that's now on the way out apparently, welcome "16:10" (sic)). The otherwise unreleased medleys on CDs are the sel...

Re: Live performances of Chris in past and now.
It probably depends on the circumstances whether he's forthcoming or not but I'm struck by a memory of a story (I can't remember where from) where Chris used to go to watch Arsenal with Dainton and whenever they scored Chris seemingly loving being thrown around like a rag doll in wild celebration by...

Re: It Doesn't Often Appear At Christmas
They are quite capable of writing another Christmas track, not a lot else to do in 2020! Plenty of artists have been recording complete surprise albums at home, wouldn't shock me if something magically appeared.

Re: Fan edits
I've done two, but call me old fashioned on my reel-to-reel long before anyone had thought of Audacity: A version of Absolutely Dubulous that cuts out all the chatter in the middle and makes it into the stonking dance track it is. As discussed on the Why Don't We Live Together thread a combination o...

Re: Why Don't We Live Together? (New York 12'' Dance Mix #2)
I had WDWLT? on a Sarm West demo cassette years ago. It had about 20 different excerpts, stems and variants on it. Slightly different dubs and mix. Its probably originated from that. It certainly sounds "legit" though Exactly this. I still have a copy of the same cassette. There's a lot o...

Re: It Doesn't Often Appear At Christmas
They probably need to license it to one of the Now Christmas compilations that keep getting changed around the edges every year for people to take any notice. Personally I like the odd ones like Dominic The Donkey by Lou Monte and the wonderful Blue Christmas by Miles Davis, stuff the same old same ...

Re: Your favourite Second
I could easily have any of these, shortest EP ever!
1. Decadence: "Stop this caprice"
2. Opening second of Sexy Northerner
3. After the Event: "Mothers all arrive"
4. The first bit of drum and bass in Betrayed around 26-27 seconds in
All perfect.

Re: NEW West End Girls 2x12" (Nov 2020)
I don't like this type of 'remix' - some random git totally unrelated to the song or the group contained either banging some saucepans with gusto or playing a Rolf Harris Stylophone in the background does not a remix make. Won't be wasting money on it.

Both of the tracks featuring Neil came out as support tracks on a Suede CD single in 1997 - CD2 of "Filmstar" the 5th single from album "Coming Up"

Kylie's new album is called Disco - does that kibosh Di5co?
With the concert tour on hold many here are hoping for Di5co to act as a stopgap and extend the shelf life of the Hotspot era. Does Kylie's just announced album title (due November) put the mockers on the possibility? Or could it cheekily sneak out before then regardless? Thoughts?

Re: Question about the b-side of the Ab Fab 7"
It's a comedy record. The "Dull Soulless Dance Music" mix is INTENDED to be exactly that. Dull. Soulless. Darnce music!

Re: Question about the b-side of the Ab Fab 7"
It's possible to make a hard edit within "Absolutely Dubulous" to cut out the minute of chatter in the middle which spoils an otherwise stonking dance track - it's undoubtedly the best version of the song IMO.
