Re: NEW West End Girls 2x12" (Nov 2020)
Parlophone can’t release anything from Behaviour and onwards, without Neil and Chris’s consent, since they own all the rights. This is not true. Neil and Chris have full ownership of their own materialall the way since they signed with Parlophone - also before they founded PSBP. (Say what you will ...

The original one yes. Chris wrote the middle eight on the album version, hence a credit there

Re: Bring him back - I know who I want to produce the next album
The Boys are constantly about the here and now. So would have to be someone current. David Jackson probably bit too inexperienced at 17 (bright future though) so would say Artbat, Mella Dee or Neil’s mate Kolsch. Though have you seen that doing the rounds where Cheeky Pete says he’d be up for doing...

7/10
The reviewer seems to like Wedding in Berlin a lot, by the way.

Re: Hotspot reviews
Really lovely review. I’d say Hoping For A Miracle is more King’s Cross than Funny Uncle though. King's Cross is arguably the best ballad of the PSB career. I wish this song was as good as King's Cross. King’s Cross is an utterly magnificent song, but not a ballad. You're joking, right? No?

Re: Decide (Burning the Heather b-side)
Could easily be one of the HIGHLIGHTS of Electric! One of their best B-sides ever, in my opinionstopthecar wrote: ↑Fri 13 Dec 2019, 9:03 am Bought the tracks this morning.
Listened to Decide on full blast in my car on the way to work.
Wow. Blown away by it.
Another b side that could be on an album.
Could easily be on Electric.

My guess. A second verse and chorus. Then the bridge will end up in it's "normal" place, after the second chorus....Sandy Shaw wrote: ↑Sat 23 Nov 2019, 9:47 pm I'm wondering whether the album version will just have a longer intro and/or outro and no additional lyrics at all!

Re: Burning the heather
Looking at the song titles of the tunes we havent heard on HotSpot, they dont appear to give themselves to politics. a couple could be a surprise, such as only the dark and wilo the wisp, but I suspect its going to be a fairly politics free album. Wasn't the whole point of releasing Agenda to get a...

Re: Newly-scanned Very-era interview with Pete Gleadall and Bob Kraushaar
I wonder why there wasn't a reference to producer Stephen Hague whom both Pete and Bob would have reported into on the production of "Very" in this article...strange. Are there any Stephen Hague interviews on "Very" that any one knows? Stephen Hauge was just in at the very end o...

Re: DREAMWORLD TOUR
Not sure how I feel about a "greatest hits" tour...it feels like closer to retirement...but these things make money and they need to tour to pay for all of their productions I'm sure...I guess I never thought they would do a "greatest hits" tour...it's not creative enough for me...

Re: PSB EDINBURGH MUSICAL SHOW
Having listened end to end about 3 times in the last 24 hrs, I think Musik is one of the most coherent, consistently strong bodies of work the boys have released in decades. In particular, it showcases their songwriting abilities, rather than exhibiting the shiny sheen of a famous producer. I would...

Re: PSB EDINBURGH MUSICAL SHOW
MONGREL Very good songwriting. Clever, Weill-like chord changes in the bridge. Production quite poor, with obvious use of Logic-presets (the drums in particular) up front in the mix. Would have benefitted stylistically by some guitars. SOUP Catchy. Great drum programming. Muddily produced. RUN GIRL ...

Re: Piano Solo, I want a Dog (Introspective)
This is a fully improvised, blues-style piano solo, and it makes no sense trying to replicate it, nor notate it to sheet music. For any pianists skilled in blues, this style of solo is pretty easy, btw.

Re: BBC4 Top of the Pops Repeats
Introspective became the best selling PSB album ever. Arguing that it flopped, and a 1989 release would have solved it becomes a bit silly, doesn’t it?
