Re: Why do people hate “Before”?

Sounded unremarkable, generic, and forgettable to me. A throwaway 90s House tune that Neil happens to sing. None of the countless remixes improved it either. Didn't care for it then, still don't now.

Re: Aurally 4 sale the CD that never saw the light

Public service announcement: If it's a proper CD and not a CDR (and it appears to be from the images), there's no way only 5 copies were made. First, the setup costs for making the glass master, printing, etc. are such that it's totally impractical, working out to a hundred bucks or more per disc. A...

Re: WANTED: Elysium (26-track Japanese Edition)

The confusion likely stems from the Japanese 2-disc edition using the same box as the European one, with only the obi mentioning the extra track (in Japanese).

Re: Japanese Reissues

All part of Parlophone coming under Warner AFAIK. These reissues are simply keep them in print as opposed to remastering or adding bonus tracks.

Re: Songs never released on CD

ZYX is absolutely a legit label; they've been around for many years. The artwork on many of their releases looks quite amateurish though, so I can see why someone might think they were boots.

Re: Vocal, Construct & Thursday 12"s released on 9 Dec. 2013

I got notices that all three have been sent. Each one a day apart. Amazon works in mysterious ways (though I do enjoy their attention to detail regarding regional differences: amazon.ca tells me my items have been shipped, while amazon.co.uk tells me they've been dispatched).

So they're all out now? I ordered them all at once weeks ago, and asked them to be shipped together, but I just got the notifications from amazon that they're sending them individually and at different times. *shrug*

Re: Love is a Bourgeois Construct CD release discussion

Vinyl releases, no matter who the artist, are limited in numbers nowadays. The new beatles live at the bbc vol 2 has a run of only 2000 worldwide, which considering the collectibility and appeal of the beatles, is pathetically small. Totally off-topic, but just to clarify: it turns out the LP is in...

Re: Love is a Bourgeois Construct CD release discussion

I would not include sellers who are selling unsold copies, a lot of people buy up the limited releases so that they can resell them at higher price! True, and that's certainly the case for the 7" singles like Winner, Leaving, and especially Love Life. For sure, these were not pressed in the thousan...

Re: Love is a Bourgeois Construct CD release discussion

They are still manufactured in the thousands. That really surprises me, because the continuing decline of physical media means now that albums from prominent artists barely sell in the thousands on CD. The regular LP of Yes was limited to 1,000 copies (or so I've read) and there would presumably be...

Re: Love is a Bourgeois Construct CD release discussion

About Thursday I'll probably pre-order it on the next days, but I hope that this single gets a higher production, due to it seems that it's going to compete in the charts. I don't expect it will, given that physical sales no longer have any significant impact on chart positions for singles. At this...

Re: Final results of poll on buying PSB re-releases on Blu-r

I doubt very much Blu-Ray audio will take off. We've already had two previous hi-res formats (SACD and DVD-A) fail. Very few people are bothered by the difference between CD and MP3, never mind CD and hi-res. Besides, what's the sense in putting music on hi-res formats, when modern mastering techniq...
