Re: Actually vs Introspective, choose the best one
At the time I thought that Introspective was like a follow-up to Disco, but including 2 new tracks. As I'd been following I assumed this was the case because 2 tracks were remixes, 1 was the PSB's version of the Eighth Wonder single, Domino Dancing was already out (and like Suburbia on Disco was rep...

Re: Was Please released on CD straightaway?
In 1986 CDs cost between £10 and £15 new, with chart titles usually at the lower end (discounted due to competition between shops). The dealer price was around £8, so not cheap. For perspective, £10 in 1986 is just under £30 today taking into account inflation. CDs were definitely priced as luxury i...

Re: Was Please released on CD straightaway?
It was common at the time for CDs to come out later, mainly because of a lack of pressing capacity as the format grew in popularity. I worked in a record shop at the time and the CD release schedule was different to LP and cassette. Note also that the rear of the UK LP sleeve just has the catalogue ...

Re: It couldn't happen here soundtrack album
There have been several cassette RSD releases in the past and this year there are definitely some CDs.

Re: Wedding in Berlin: revival of interest?
I think it's a fun track, nothing wrong with PSB being fun as long as it isn't all they do.

A week on and I think I love this album. I like everything on it including Wedding In Berlin. It's the best album since Yes for me.

https://jbpress.ismedia.jp/articles/-/59130 Japanese article including some new (brief) interview quotes. I’m a friend of the writer who I believe may have written some of the liner notes for the Japanese release. Edit - the writer Eiichi Yoshimura told me that he wrote the Japanese liner notes for ...

Re: Hotspot - Forum Reactions.
In short, great album, no filler tracks have enjoyed listening to it all the way through several times. For me it works better than any album since Yes, although there are some individual tracks I like more than anything on this album on the albums in between. I think it’s got a similar mix of style...

Re: Do you think the 2 first albums of the triology have any real contender of the PSB classics?.
There aren't any PSB albums that include classics from start to finish in my view. The recent albums are no different - some top-tier classics, some middling, some I'll not miss if I never hear them again. I'm used to this - there's always enough to warrant continuing to buy PSB albums and often it ...

Re: Hotspot - Forum Reactions.
Well it sounds good to me - a variety of styles and I'm encouraged by the mention of good songwriting. Let's face it, they have rarely let us down in that regard. Each album for me has songs I would consider top-tier and go back to repeatedly, and others that I only listen to in the context of the a...

Re: Famous at 30 plus
Pretty sure this is discussed in their first book (the one covering the Japanese tour in the late 80s), and was also mentioned in an early Smash Hits interview. I seem to remember they thought they might only have at most 5 good years and then reinvent the band potentially with a revolving cast of y...

Re: Heart (Remix), 12" version vs, Aurally CD version
Having looked around I can only find this edit on Aurally so it must be an unofficial edit and agree with Wish, probably to fit all the songs onto the disc. But no, I have no evidence to back that up except that it doesn't appear on any of the officially released or promo versions of Heart as far as...

Re: The New Album Info Thread
Yes I think you can hear the word "Berlin" in there at the end. Anyway, this and the 2 songs we have to date seem to indicate an eclectic sounding album, not one that will all be in the same vein.
