Re: A new decade a new phase: 20's

Live dimension matters for money and fan support but it's hardly their creative core. I agree with this sentiment despite the fact it saddens me that it could spell the end of being able to see them on stage again. I'd gladly forego a new tour if it meant getting a second imperial phase. I know the...

Re: A new decade a new phase: 20's

I think extensive touring doesn't really bring anything new to the table. It's ok if fans can catch them more easily than in the past (yes, even Italian fans) but they're basically a studio act, not a rock band with an eye for improvisations and fluid setlists. Live dimension matters for money and f...

Re: A new decade a new phase: 20's

Two more studio albums after SP trilogy wraps up, selected live shows in England and the Turing thing in between. No more lucrative but creatively pointless world tours, please.

Re: Today I listened to Elysium for the first time since 2012...

I too have nice memories to associate with Elysium, in spite of its weakness as a whole. I remember hearing Winner for the first time in Rome at the same time of Italy doing pretty well @ Euro 2012, then the amazing Olympics thing (the return of pointy hats made me scream with joy), and finally part...

Photos for a book - a PSB biography, or Neil's memoirs?
What'd be the point? We had Catalogue, Life in Pop, the reissues, tons of interviews, Neil's conferences...

Actually many of the instrumentals sound better than the vocal versions, they feel more cohesive.

Re: Today I listened to Elysium for the first time since 2012...

The other big issue for me is the lack of tracking on his Vocals, where his singing on some tracks starts to distract instead of mesh in. Sorry, but Neil isn't a great singer and needs a bit of studio magic on delicate songs. Yeah I remember it being discussed. I think they tried to achieve with ba...

"Hold on" has very clunky lyrics. "The rain is falling from the sky, planes taking off to fly". Oh, really?

Re: Why vinyl? My first PSB-CD

Both vinyl and CD are something you can cherish and show as bricks of your own culture and taste, much in the way VHS and DVD are way more rewarding to collect (and to show) than digital copies of films. Having said that, I think CD is the best way to listen to PSB. Their music relies very much on v...

Replace "Breathing space" and "'Give it a go" with "In slow motion" and "Woods" and it gets 110℅ better.

The party is over now

Been listening to Noel Coward's original recording on Youtube. Did PSB finish their own version? The melody is delicious and would really suit Neil's voice...
