One good thing to consider is that being a greatest hits tour, Dreamworld isn’t linked to Hotspot or the next album. In that sense they could tour at any time, pandemic permitting.

Re: News: "Chris and Neil have been at their homes, writing new songs and working on music for a new theatre production"

Whatever they are working on now, I wonder how that is carried on technically. A big part of their drive has always been the joy of in-studio collaboration: Chris would noodle something on the keyboards, Neil would immediately come up with ideas how to develop that or lyrics. Sort of creative brain...

I had a variation of this on cassette years ago. It was just studio out takes. Sounds like this was made from that.

Re: CD with demos of "Actually"

Is there a complete record anywhere of all the recording sessions done by the Pets over the years with details of songs attempted/mixed/scrapped etc.? Doubtful. I should imagine Neil’s diaries are the closest thing. There would be studio booking records, but they wouldn’t have details of what was b...

Re: A funny rare photo to watch of Neil Tennant

Nickname - please don’t worry about some of the comments on this post. The photo of Neil next to the baby I have seen myself a very long time ago in a magazine it was the celebrate something PSB’s related. :) I think the lady and baby could be Eric Watson’s wife and child. Neil was good friends wit...

It's not really a synth sound though. It's a distorted sample.

Re: Being Boring At 30

I don't agree that it's one of their weaker singles. I remember the contemporary reviews acclaiming it and it only ever sounded liked the natural second single from the first play of the album - it's got a strong melody, wonderful lyric, cool video and packaging. One can understand their rush to re...

It’s a masterpiece. Not my favourite Pet Shop Boys’ song, but top three. I’ve asked for it to be played at my funeral. What better way to go out? I don’t wanna go out.

Re: PSB at the BBC

When did Chris stop gyrating at the keyboard? I'm thinking he only did it during Please That’s an interesting question isn’t it. Was he doing it under duress because Tom Watkins and the record company etc. didn’t want them to appear so static? I’m not sure about that because he looks like he’s quit...

Re: When you stop liking the music as much

I've never understood the concept of a Pet Shop Boys fan who also likes Erasure. It's like a coffee lover who's happy to take decaf from time to time. Are you liking them because you get bored in between PSB albums? That’s ridiculous. Erasure made some great records from the mid eighties to the ear...

Re: What would you think a future PSB's album should sound like in order to reinvent themselves?

James Ford has produced Jessie Ware's new album 'What's Your Pleasure?'. A sublime pop album that nods to many artists and references, yet sounds contemporary. He has beautifully combined electronics with elegant orchestration and production, not a million miles from PSB. Listen to 'The Kill', the ...
