Re: B-Sides since 2009's "Format"

Greetings Pod, Anyway, the notion of another PSB compilation is slim I think after what Neil said in Manchester. The advent of spotify and streaming means people can compile their own in minutes. I'd think it's got less to do with streaming than it does to do with the fact that Alternative was brill...

Re: Bilingual US re-issue CD on Sire label

Greetings, Yes well spotted. As the US release of Nightlife was 2nd November 1999 it would seem that the Bilingual reissue was just after that but still in 1999 as previously surmised. Possibly but not necessarily. From what I've seen, catalogue numbers are usually issued once a decision is made to ...

Re: DREAMWORLD TOUR

Greetings, I wonder how strict PSB's definition of what constitutes a 'greatest hit' will be? Given they've had 39 Top 20 UK hits (40 if you include Seriously), anything that didn't make the Top 20 should be an automatic exclusion. That would automatically eliminate all singles after Love Et...

Re: The lost single

Pandemonium, as a follow up to Love Etc.

With the right release strategy, it would have been another Top 20 hit for sure.

Re: Dreamland chart positions

Apologies if I missed it, but has anyone shared the first week ACTUAL UK SINGLES chart position yet? I'm guessing it landed outside the Top 100 and we have no industry boffins here nowadays who can find out what's happening south of 100? Nothing on Wikipedia yet - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pet_S...

You could be right. No one seems to know much about it. If you do discover anything, let us know. :)

Re: Dreamland / No Boundaries CD single - October

Good news. As mentioned previously by others, in the right hands there's opportunity to peel away some of the "wall of sound", "everything at once", elements of the regular version and create an "extended remix" (as opposed to a doof-doof brutalization) that's an improvement upon the original.

Re: Bilingual US re-issue CD on Sire label

These people MAY have listed it wrongly, but if they're right, the asking price is not much... https://www.discogs.com/Pet-Shop-Boys-B ... se/6834215

As for the dating, Discogs doesn't specify it, and PSB Catalogue lists it only as 2000-something.

I don't think they're going to completely ignore the last 14 years of material!
Well the Top 10 has ignored them that for long... and if it's really is "Greatest Hits", that may well be what it is.

Re: Dreamland...is that it?

Greetings, If they were serious about trying to have a hit, they'd have simultaneously lined up release dates of a single in the Download/Streaming market (i.e. for the yoof), the CD single market (i.e. for PSB fans) and 12" vinyl (i.e. for wealthy PSB fans and hipsters). Instead, there's just the s...

Re: 2 albums?

Greetings Drem, Oh, and I sincirely hope they won't use "Dreamworld" for any kind of releases. It's so un-PSB, so Erasure-ish (have to said that with all due respect to the latter band which I like too). If there's a CD/DVD release as there was with Pandemonium and Inner Sanctum, you can just about ...

I was just thinking the same! Glad it's not just me. Can we put a ban on emoji's for the forseeable future...
It's only certain ones though. ;)

But yes... it is a pointless distraction.

Re: Disturbing PSB dreams

The only dream I can recall that had PSB themselves in it, was a strange and rather baffling dream, not unlike It Couldn't Happen Here. I quite liked it there, wherever it was. I do have regular dreams though about 12" singles and CD singles that don't exist in real life, many of them by PSB. I find...
