Re: Dreamworld: Spoilers

Just been to the concert. Some thoughts: - I think it’s a clever idea to start a greatest hits concert with a voiceover saying “sooner or later it happens to everyone”. Very PSB. - I miss the surprises that you usually find in a PSB gig, but since it’s a GH tour it’s obvious the setlist is a bit pre...

Soft Cell & Pet Shop Boys

Totally agree with le petit corbusier: the vocoder at the end reminds me “Where the streets have no name”

Soft Cell & Pet Shop Boys

I think adding vocals it’s a way to earn money and, in case like this, to be credited as author, but I like to think that is Neil making cameo appearance as Alfred Hitchcock did in his movie.

Re: Soft Cell & Pet Shop Boys

I was trying to understand the meaning of “purple zone” and I found some news like this. Is it possibile that the title of the song is quoting this covid related slang?

The mass-media trilogy

I was reading the Discovery booklet just a few minutes ago and I didn’t remember how Neil explained the previous tours. He said MCMLXXXIX was an attempt to do a film multi-media show while Performance was a theatrical performance. From this perspective, Discovery seems to be the stage version of a T...

Re: “Relentless” & the KLF

By 1992, when Neil and Chris began work in earnest on the songs that became Very and Relentless at Chris’s Fabden’s Park home studio, the charts were flooded with post-KLF pop dance tracks including Don’t You Want Me, Rhythm Is A Dancer and Ebeneezer Goode - so it would be hard to pin any influence...

Impressed that you got the photographer to frame you correctly too! G. The photo was shot in 2012, I don’t know if...

“Relentless” & the KLF

I was listening to some of the KLF’s tracks (they are back on YouTube with a brand new page) and I noticed some of the voices of “Last train to Trancentral” sound like the dialogue on “We came from outer space”... so I was thinking about “Relentless” being the PSB doing the KLF. What do you think ab...

Re: Top Three Sleeve Artwork

Following on from a comment in a post last week I thought it might be interesting to find out people's favourite artwork. For me the visual side of PSB was one of the things that first attracted me to the band - I loved the fact that back in the day, quite often you only found out what the sleeve l...
